Overview
In a time when most companies have outsourced to a name brand for accessories, often with less than desirable results, Beretta has always managed to turn out high-quality clothing. The catalog models over the years have been an object of much derision, but no one has ever accused them of slapping a name on a substandard product. This year, a couple of items caught our attention.
Sporting Clays Vest
First up, the new MOLLE style sporting clays vest. Fortunately, I don’t mean tactical. This is a classic vest, with venting fabric, that just happens to use MOLLE to attach the shell pockets, allowing shooters to move them around to the most comfortable position. Or take them off as needed.
Whatever floats your boat. I keep my shotgun shells in a quad load platform, where they belong.
Boots!
Now to the part I care about. Beretta bought a stake in Zamberlan boots, which bodes very well for the future of Beretta footwear. Zamberlan already has a cult-like following in some military circles, the kinds that get to wear whatever boots they want.
Regarded as extremely tough, durable, and comfortable, they are absolutely top notch. As much as I mock it, we do all tend to end up back at Italian boots for mountaineering. And these are actually made in Italy, not Headquartered in Italy and made in China or Vietnam. They have sometimes been hard to find in the U.S., and I hope Beretta USA can fix that.
All in favor of a GunsAmerica boot review?
