There’s always a catch, right? If something’s too good to be true it probably is, as the saying goes.
Take, for example, the ongoing, six-week summer “Freedom Schools” program being offered by the Children’s Defense Fund in 87 cities (in 28 states) around the country.
Ostensibly designed to help children from rough and poor neighborhoods work on their literacy skills, the program is being offered for FREE!
Problem is it’s not free. The program comes at a very high cost — as it’s not just about teaching reading and writing, it’s about indoctrinating children to hate and fear firearms.
This Wednesday, children participating in CDF’s Freedom Schools were recruited to participate in the organization’s National Day of Social Action to “Protect Children, Not Guns.”
Note the Orwellian propaganda there, the suggestion that protecting children and protecting the 2A are mutually exclusive concepts. That is in order to protect children we must sacrifice our gun rights. It’s one or the other. What a hideous lie! As it is good guys with guns that best protect our school children.
In St. Paul, Minnesota, over 1,000 students marched on the State Capitol to promote the anti-gun agenda of their educators.
Draped in orange T-shirts, they carried signs that read, “We will not be next, end gun violence,” and “When I grow up, I want to be still alive.”
“It’s super important to teach them to advocate for themselves,” Emmanuel Donaby, director of the Stem Freedom Schools, told WCCO. “We have a horrible gun epidemic, killing and deaths that are happening.”
Student Sahra Mohamed told the local news affiliate (see video embedded above), “We are marching because a lot of kids are getting killed. About 3,410 were killed in 2017.”
No doubt this little girl was spoon-fed that stat right from the CDF website. But there is one critical part she omitted. Probably because she was never told the entire truth. That number includes adults, specifically 18- and 19-year-olds.

Why include that category of adults? Because it doubles the number of “kid” deaths. Unintentional firearm deaths, suicide firearm deaths, and homicide firearm deaths for children ages 0-17 in 2017 was 95, 729 and 919 respectively, according to the CDC, for a total of 1,743. That’s about half of 3,410.
The numbers would be even smaller if you removed 15-, 16- and 17-year-olds from the calculation. Why? Because gangs account for nearly half of all violent crime in America and about 40 percent of gang members are juveniles, as GunsAmerica reported.
They ought to be carrying signs that say, “Protect Children, Not Gangs.”
See, the more one digs into the numbers the more one realizes that “gun violence” in America is really a manifestation of three overlooked issues: mental health, gangs, and gun-safety education.
Quite simply put, the best way to reduce gun-related suicides is to improve mental health outreach to at-risk kids & teens, the best way to reduce gun-related homicides is to eradicate gangs, and the best way to reduce accidental gun deaths is to teach all children gun safety.
All of that is common sense. Yet none of that appears on the CDF’s website under policy “solutions” to address gun violence. Instead, CDF recommends we enact various gun-control schemes that punish law-abiding gun owners, like implementing universal background checks and banning “military-style weapons.”
It’s also worth pointing out the irony of the program’s name: The Freedom Schools program… (because it teaches children to rail against the very right that protects all the freedoms they currently enjoy). Sinister, indeed.
We don’t have a ‘gun epidemic’, we have a cultural epidemic, especially among Blacks. And now with the rise of MS-13, among Hispanics.
But of course, we aren’t supposed to point this out, it might reflect poorly on those ethnic groups.
my guess is those same children wearing the orange shirts will be marching to their jobs at the collective in the future.

There is a reason for this. Gun-control advocates need a high body count (hence the inflation of the figures) in order to gain traction for their agenda. Therefore they are not interested in any solutions that may actually make children (or anyone else) safer. Providing safety solutions without providing the control inherent in gun-control schemes does not promote the core of their agenda, which is control, not safety. Actual solutions (ideas that, if implemented, would actually decrease the body count) can’t be allowed because their agenda for control would be derailed.
Student, Sahra Mohamed, told a reporter, ” a lot of kids are getting killed”, ahh, yes especially in the regions your Islamic parents and other came from, perhaps, if you families think it is safer back in those areas, you all are more than welcome to go back!
There is a glimmer of hope….trap shooting is the fastest MN High School sport. I think it’s roughly 12,000 students from schools all across the state many who have never been interested in anything “shooting” previously. Im guessing most inner city schools (like those protesting) don’t have much representation.
And this is just grooming the future generation of the voting world be be able to outlaw all guns and do away with the 2nd amendment in about 20 years from now. This is what America is coming to down the line. I have taught my kids to enjoy hunting and shooting and gun safety. But unfortunately there is not enough of us to equal out all the misinformed and misguided amongst us. I really do feel sorry for my grandkids and great grand kids. It’s not gonna be a good site
I would not lose hope. There were many pro Second Amendment marchers a few years ago when I went to the Utah capital after the Parkland, Florida shooting. There are quite a few of us in America that still believe in the right to keep and bear arms.
How shameful to use the innocent children they claim to be trying to protect as puppets to advance THEIR cause.
It\’s far easier to be a lazy sheeple than actually having to think for yourself
I would expect nothing less from the left. We need a civil war.
J Franks, I agree with expecting nothing less from the left. We don’t, however, need a civil war. What we need is some real education in who does and does not for the country. Who does and does not oppress the majority of people in this country. The definition of ‘free’ for all … NOT. Someone has to pay for all that free stuff and oh by the way it’s you, me and everyone. You don’t use children as your spokespeople.
Patriot. Interesting handle. A patriot by the name of Thomas Jefferson once wrote, “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure,”
To the detriment of America these efforts are all based on communist doctrine and carried out by communists. The battle for a communist America is being waged on all fronts from public schools to universities. The country is producing communists with every graduate Congress is falling to communism. Either we fight the communists everywhere or we will die Its that serious. It will take all the Patriots that can be mustered to fight and hopefully save our Republic.
Jacque ,
You are exactly correct.
Mao usurped the young , inexperienced students to further
his communist agenda .
Stalin considered education an effective weapon , and used
it as such .
Castro also relied heavily upon the corrupted system of learning .
Pol pot used children as his assassins , following their indoctrination.
Communists teach the young WHAT to think , not HOW to think .
