In a recent interview with TMZ Live, rapper Killer Mike spoke candidly about his views on the Second Amendment. He expressed concern that new gun laws would impact black Americans “worst and first.”
“There are enough laws on the books to take care of what’s already out there,” the rapper stated, arguing that criminals don’t abide by the law to begin with so creating more gun control is pointless.
His advice for law-abiding citizens? “Take ‘Stop the Bleed‘ classes, join the National African American Gun Association (NAAGA). You shouldn’t have a tool that you don’t know how to use.”
Killer Mike puts education above legislation. “I’m more for education than I am for more laws,” he asserted, highlighting the need for proper gun handling and safety training.

Asked about the number of guns black families should own, Killer Mike did not hesitate.
“Five. You should have a revolver, a semi-automatic pistol, a shotgun, a bolt-action rifle, and a semi-automatic rifle,” he said.
The rapper clarified his stance on semi-automatic rifles when challenged by the TMZ interviewer on why civilians need “military-style” firearms.
“I said semi-automatic. Military is fully automatic. So it’s not military, it just looks cool. It can look like a race car it just doesn’t go 200 miles an hour,” he explained.
“My thinking is simply this, the founders of the Constitution saw a need to fight tyranny at some point and they believed that that could happen again. So they wrote the provision. To get the ultimate answer you gotta dig up those old white guys and ask them,” he continued.
When questioned about exacerbating a potential civil war because, as the TMZ interviewer claimed, “everyone is armed to the teeth,” Killer Mike responded soberly.
“I’m just gonna say black people have only been free for 60 years. I’m not willing to give up one freedom that I’ve only enjoyed for 60 years. My mother and father were born in apartheid, the fastest gun ownership in this nation is black women, and I don’t want to get in the way of that. I don’t want them to not enjoy any freedom they were promised by the people who once enslaved us,” he said.
Killer Mike’s strong belief in the Second Amendment, coupled with a call for more education and responsibility, certainly adds a fresh perspective to the ongoing debate in mainstream media about gun control.

I’m a bit confused by that statement . Perhaps one of
the good readers here could enlighten me as to how
this assertion can reasonably be made .
