Put a New Grip on Your Gen5 Glock

Going into the weekend, many of us are preparing for either our weekly training session or a competition. Today, I am making a recommendation to help you with those ventures.

If you have never tried a sandpaper grip on your guns, it changes the game. I think it is the best $20 you can spend as far as upgrades go for your Glock. Not something you necessarily want to put on a carry gun, but for a tactical or training piece, it can’t be beat.

Not only will you have an easier time managing recoil, the enhanced grip will also allow you to have a longer training day. It happens to all of us, eventually your forearms get tired, and any more expended rounds are basically a waste. A fist full of sandpaper molded to your gun extends training time significantly

This is basically everything you need to get the job done.

The are many other benefits as well. One handed shooting is obviously easier. A wet grip, if you are out in the rain, is less of an issue. Same goes for blood if you are in a close-quarters fight.

As far as which model to choose, I like the operator grip from US Night Vision. Despite the name, which sounds like somebody played to much Call of Duty Black Ops over in marketing, it fits very well and is easy to install. It comes in a variety of colors, which is always a nice touch for your hand cannon. Try it out, you won’t be disappointed.

How do you feel about Silicon Carbide? I am starting a Glock 19 Custom build and plan to do Silicon Carbide for the grip. I am not a fan of stippling. Fugly to me.
