In order to become a better shooter, you need to train with people who are not only better shooters than you but are also excellent teachers. One such trainer is Daniel Horner, a world-class champion and Sig Sauer team shooter. I’m excited to tell you about his new program, OnVirtus.com, to help you become a better shooter. He has drafted some of the best shooters and trainers in the world to create a library of quality video training you can access 24/7 — and there’s a discount code below.
How’s it work?
You’re probably familiar with LinkedIn Learning because they have training videos that many corporations and schools use to teach skills in all kinds of disciplines. You can access all kinds of education broken up into short, specific topical videos so you can target a specific skill or brush up on a particular tool. Horner’s new education program does the same thing.
Horner gives you training in specific shooting disciplines like long range, pistol, shotgun, 3-gun, concealment, etc. The classes are segmented by topic into short videos so that you can easily study a single element as many times as you need, or just brush up while you’re at the range using your phone. Heck, you can even learn how to shoot while mounted on a horse!
I got a chance to talk with Horner about OnVirtus in the trade show at the NRA Annual Meeting and asked him to briefly tell us about it.
Why not use YouTube?
YouTube is full of useful information and the OnVirtus instructors probably have lots of content you can view on their channels. The advantage to OnVirtus is that the content is already curated so you don’t have to waste your time searching for the right skills to learn. The content is also vetted: These instructors have been chosen because they are certified experts in their fields. YouTube has a lot to offer, but it’s hard to tell which videos are worth watching and you can’t tell if the skills being taught are state of the art. Plus, there are no ads so it really is a tool you can quickly reference while at the range.
How many classes are there?
There are dozens of classes already up, but the best thing is that the library is constantly growing. What’s more, if you have a question for the instructor you can address them directly and get answers or get a new class addressing your questions. You can watch classes as many times as you need. As new courses are added, you get instant access. Your annual membership fee gives you access to all current and future classes. It’s really the ideal way to learn.
How do I start?
Go to Onvirtus.com and click the All-Access button. It costs $124.99 for a full-year membership, but you can use the discount code GunsAmerica20 to get 20% off. So for the cost of your Netflix subscription, you get to learn everything you need to become a better shooter. As Horner said, the courses will save you more than that in ammo alone. I’ve already started watching, and I highly recommend it.
Now, where can I get a horse and some revolvers…?
