You guys familiar with Operation Choke Point? Essentially, it’s the Obama administration targeting banks that deal with gun companies, “You [financial institutions] do business with them [firearm manufacturers], the government is going to make life difficult for you!”
Well, after stonewalling for quite some time, it appears that the FDIC is finally willing to admit that it was indeed discriminating against gun companies, according to a press release published by the National Shooting Sports Foundation.
Here is an excerpt from the release:
In a major development concerning NSSF’s leadership to halt discrimination in the provision of financial services and products to firearms related businesses due to “Operation Choke Point”, the top officials of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) on Wednesday admitted wrongdoing and said they would cease practices that had the effect of encouraging such disparate treatment.
U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-Mo.) released a statement after a meeting with Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Chairman Martin Gruenberg and Vice Chairman Tom Hoenig discussing the agency’s involvement in Operation Choke Point.
Today, the Congressman told NSSF, “After a year of mounting pressure from Congress and outside organization like the National Shooting Sports Foundation, top officials from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation finally acknowledged their involvement and wrongdoing in Operation Choke Point. While I am very pleased the FDIC will put in place new polices and change the culture at the agency, there is still work to be done, specifically with the Department of Justice. I am pleased the National Shooting Sports Foundation supports my legislation, the Financial Institution Customer Protection Act, and I have no doubt the foundation will remain steadfast in educating its members and continuing the fight in ending Operation Choke Point once and for all.”
The FDIC’s important admission immediately received the attention of the Heritage Foundation’s Daily Signal, which filed this comprehensive story by news producer Kelsey Harkness.

Below is a video of Sen. Mike Lee asking U.S. Attorney General nominee Loretta Lynch Wednesday on whether she is familiar with the impact Operation Choke Point has had on gun companies.
I e-mailed both of my Senators, Enzi & Brarrasso about this “Operation Choke-point” no reply so far. Doesn’t really surprise me though. This administration is the most evil and corrupt one I’ve seen in my 68 years.
I wonder how many “mom & pop” businesses have been forced to close their business doors? Horror stories abound where small firearm business operations have approached banks for renewal of their loans and been told they can no longer do loans for such businesses. Even large businesses that center on gun manufacture or sales have been hurt & if this change does not take place, some of them would face bankruptcy. But now all’s well — FDIC has apologized — banks have apologized — so everyone should just forget about what has happened and move on? Just one more example of “change” we were promised. Another of the back door efforts to damage and/or destroy firearm ownership in America.
So is the FDIC going to get sued for discrimination?? If this isn’t criminal activity then I don’t know what is anymore.
Another Gov Agency admits “wrongdoing”. This time the FDIC. Whats missing? Well surely the FDIC did not just come up with the idea to target firearm related businesses. That leaves the four potential points of origin. The White House, Homeland Security, the Dept of Justice or the BATFE. In Gov, no Agency wants another Agencies fingers th their rice bowl. The FDIC is an INDEPENDENT GOV AGENCY. It is run by a Board of five Members selected by POTUS. So who has the power to force the “independent FDIC” to add firearm related businesses into operation choke point?
Will anyone be charged, fired or even reprimanded for these illegal activites?
Will any politician follow the smoking gun to the source and push for accountability?
Will this just be added to the list of presidential pardons handed out like obama phones?
