NRA Keeps Trolling Anti-Gunners and the Left with Great Success

I can’t tell if the National Rifle Association is deliberately trolling anti-gunners and the Left these days or if it is really just doing its advocacy thing, but either way, it’s creating quite the spectacle.

You’ll recall that last week Dana Loesch, the NRA commentator, drew the ire of anti-gunners everywhere for ad in which she encouraged members to fight back against the “violence of lies with a clenched fist of truth.”

Well, this week, retired Navy SEAL Dom Raso, another NRA commentator, jumped into the fray with a five-minute video titled, “Organized Anarchy.”

“What we are seeing in America is an organized anarchy, led by people who hate our president and who hate those who support him,” said Raso. “Even Obama himself is fanning the flames of the opposition, stating that he is heartened by these anarchist protestors—the ones who spit on law enforcement, burn American flags and use violence.”

Eh, it might be a bit of a leap to suggest that Obama supports those despicable acts but, generally speaking, he does seem to support this anti-Trump “resistance” movement.

“President Obama is heartened by the level of engagement taking place in communities around the country,” said Kevin Lewis, an Obama spokesman back in Jan. “In his final official speech as President, he spoke about the important role of citizen and how all Americans have a responsibility to be the guardians of our democracy–not just during an election but every day.”

“Citizens exercising their Constitutional right to assemble, organize and have their voices heard by their elected officials is exactly what we expect to see when American values are at stake,” he continued.

Obama’s remarks were in response to protests over Trump’s travel ban.  Like I said, Raso may be reaching when he connects Obama’s comment to the criminal acts depicted in the video.  Then again, maybe not.  Maybe Obama hasn’t done enough to condemn the radicals out there inciting violence and disorder.

Anyways, as you’d expect, Everytown for Gun Safety couldn’t wait to play the outrage card in the wake of the publication of Raso’s video.

“As part of the frontline in the fight against the NRA’s extremist leadership, we support the efforts by the Women’s March to expose and confront the gun lobby’s long history of racism, sexism, bigotry and dangerous extremism,” said Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America which along with Mayors Against Illegal Guns makes up the Bloomberg-funded Everytown, in a press release.

“There’s no mistaking the NRA leadership’s efforts to ignite a culture war by dog whistling to white supremacists, attacking peaceful protestors, and promoting violence against ‘others,’” said Watts.

Maybe I missed something, but nowhere in the video does Dom dog whistle to white supremacists, attack peaceful protestors or promote violence against others.  All Dom is doing is pointing out how shortsighted some of these activists are when it comes to the issues.

“Then there are the millionaire celebrities giving speeches about how oppressed women are under our president. If you want to know what true oppression is, I suggest you open your eyes to the ideology that lurks around the globe that wants nothing more than for you to perish,” explained Raso.

“Muslim-majority countries where by law women cannot even go to school or drive. Where a woman can be killed if she is raped—they call it an ‘honor killing.’ Try marching with your hats over there. They’ll stone you to death for it,” he added.

Raso’s right. The Trump administration has done nothing to oppress women. While the president himself has said some stupid things with respect to specific women, there hasn’t been any policy measures enacted that roll back the rights of women. Not one.

Labeling Trump as an “oppressor” only distracts from the real oppression taking place around the world.  To Dom’s point, Trump’s petty tweets, off-the-cuff remarks and “locker room talk” are not even in the same galaxy as forced marriage, acid attacks, genital mutilation, honor killings — you know, real oppression!

It’s also worth noting that women in this country have a right to keep and bear arms.  Should they find themselves in the crosshairs of a crazy ex or a stalker, they have every right to use force, including deadly force, to defend themselves and their families.  This fundamental right does not exist in other countries.  The Left wants to take this right away.  How does stripping away the 2A work to empower women in the face of real oppression?

I guess I find it entertaining to see the Left make mountains out of molehills when it comes to NRA content, all the while ignoring the real sources of violence it claims to oppose.  Not to mention how it yearns to repeal the Constitutional right that is the safeguard against tyranny and physical violence.

Keep doing what you’re doing NRA.  The more the Left reacts, the more it underscores how out of touch it really is.

We must stop talking about the right to bear arms in terms of hunting and self defence or we will continue to loose the battle we must be very open as to why we have a second amendment it was to keep the Government in check! The citizens have the ability to rise against a tyrannical Government. That is not taught in our schools by design so many Americans are ignorant to that fact.
If the representatives of the people betray their constituents, there is then no resource left but in the exertion of that original right of self-defense which is paramount to all positive forms of government, and which against the usurpations of the national rulers, may be exerted with infinitely better prospect of success than against those of the rulers of an individual state. In a single state, if the persons intrusted with supreme power become usurpers, the different parcels, subdivisions, or districts of which it consists, having no distinct government in each, can take no regular measures for defense. The citizens must rush tumultuously to arms, without concert, without system, without resource; except in their courage and despair.”

Our voting preference has nothing to do with the Love of shooting and the right to carry, own, and protection of the Constituion. I am retired Career Air Force Airman, sometimes some of us are blamed for the whole left, that should not be the case. We are responsible for our own belief, they don’t always go right or left. I would not give up my guns for the left or the right and will fight to have them. That’s why I was a career Airman TO FIGHT FOR THE RIGHT TO BE FREE, I will always fight Communism

Once long ago you knew a liberal by the comment “your not looking at it from my point of view”. Only problem I had with that statement and still do is most liberals view look like the south bound end of a north bound jack-ass

“In his final official speech as President, he spoke about the important role of citizen and how all Americans have a responsibility to be the guardians of our democracy–not just during an election but every day.”
And THAT is why we voted him and his ilk OUT of power!
“A republic… but only if you can keep it!”

Isn’t that the same principle lots of gun owners hold, though? That they are responsible to guard the nation against tyranny every day, and do so by owning guns.

“Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed, as they are in almost every country in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops.”
        – Noah Webster, An Examination of the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution, October 10, 1787
