Colion Noir isn’t one to mince words, and in his latest video, he dives into Congressman Eric Burlison’s bold plan to abolish the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
Noir holds nothing back, highlighting the ATF’s long history of 2A overreach and why eliminating the agency might be the shake-up gun owners need.

The Case Against the ATF
“The ATF is a disaster. I mean, for decades, they’ve been a disaster agency,” Noir states. “They’ve been violating the Constitution and the Second Amendment.”
From Ruby Ridge to Waco and Operation Fast and Furious, Noir points to a pattern of overreach and abuse that has eroded trust in the ATF.
He also critiques recent actions like reclassifying stabilizing braces and 80% receivers, which he sees as examples of federal overreach targeting law-abiding gun owners.
“Stabilizing braces were designed to help disabled shooters, and the ATF turned around and said, ‘Nah, let’s just make millions of gun owners criminals overnight.’”
Noir argues that the ATF isn’t about public safety anymore. “It’s about control,” he says. “They’re not chasing criminals or stopping illegal gun trafficking. They’re harassing law-abiding gun owners over nonsense like bump stocks and braces.”

Congressman Eric Burlison is stepping in to introduce a bill aimed at abolishing the ATF outright, handing regulatory authority back to the states. “No Band-Aids, no half measures—just get rid of them,” Noir explains.
In a statement, Burlison said:
“I co-sponsored a bill by my good friend Matt Gaetz to abolish the ATF… and in January, I will be filing the bill that Matt Gaetz sponsored to abolish the ATF. Why? Because we’re fighting for you.”
For Noir, this isn’t just about eliminating an agency but also about addressing federal overreach and restoring the rights of gun owners. “Enough is enough. Let’s stop with the federal overreach and give the power back to the states,” he says.
Can It Actually Happen?
While the idea of abolishing the ATF is gaining momentum among some Republicans, Noir acknowledges the political challenges ahead.
“On paper, yeah, it can happen. Republicans have Congress, and Trump’s heading back into the White House. But politics will politic,” he says, calling attention to the inevitable opposition from within Congress and beyond.
Noir also outlines alternative strategies if abolishing the ATF outright isn’t feasible, including defunding the agency or repealing rules that underpin its authority.
A Call to Action
Noir sees Burlison’s bill as an important first step, regardless of its outcome.
“If nothing else, Burlison’s bill puts the ATF’s nonsense under a spotlight,” he says. “It forces people to ask, ‘Why do we even have this agency in the first place?’”
He argues that the Second Amendment community has been stuck playing defense for too long.

“We’re always fighting to stop bad laws and bad policies, but we’re never gaining ground,” he explains. “It’s time to flip the script. Let’s push for national reciprocity, getting rid of the NFA, and reclaiming our rights.”
Noir also emphasizes the importance of winning the cultural battle for gun rights.
“Take people to the range, wear your 2A merch with pride, and have those conversations about why the Second Amendment matters. When we win the culture war, the political fight becomes a whole lot easier,” he says.
Final Thoughts
While abolishing the ATF might seem like a long shot, Noir views this push as a step in the right direction.
“Whether it passes or not, it’s a reminder that we don’t have to settle for playing defense all the damn time,” he says. “We’ve got an opportunity here to fight back, reclaim our rights, and build a culture that doesn’t just protect the Second Amendment but celebrates it.”

YES! Abolish the ATF.
One murdered Arkansas Airport Executive is one too many. Here, we have another example of Gestapo tactics used on a man and his family. What? Is he going to flush illegal weapons down the toilet?
I would love for the ATF to be abolished. The 1934 NFA Act and the 1968 Gun Control Act need to be repealed.
That would be a great start to getting back our guns rights.
As a retired atf agent (2018), I can say the agency has progressively gotten worse over the years. We used to have good agents that investigated real criminals/crimes, but like other government agencies, have become woke and push the “DEI agenda”.
The biggest problem with atf and the other agencies is they have what we called 5 year wonders. These agents are incompetent, lazy, arrogant ass kissers who’ll do anything they’re told and rat you out in a heartbeat. They never learned the job, but just want to “advance” into the corrupt management that atf is famous for. So they spend a few years somewhere doing nothing, then take a goofy test and if they score well are promoted to management in the shit hole that is atf HQ. They’ll kiss ass for a certain period of time and then get farmed out to local offices where their incompetence and anti-gun dc brainwashing destroys everything.
In all honesty, outside of arson and explosives, there is nothing special atf does, other than terrorize lawful gun owners and federal firearms licensees! If it weren’t for state and local law enforcement, atf could do nothing. So, if they are abolished in the future, so be it, because firearms violations are easily handled by real law enforcement entities. Why should taxpayers fund this woke-ass agency when all they want to do is strip the 2A rights of Americans!
I wouldn’t disband the entire ATF. There are some sections that do a great job that needs to be done. Their explosives branch would be one. They are the premier investigators of bombings and they are really good at it.
I think the biggest problem with the ATF and most other Federal LE agencies, is that the leadership doesn’t have enough integrity and balls to say NO when a president has the DOJ call down and say I want you to do something that is contrary to law or morally wrong. President Biden had them writing policy’s up the wazoo that they had no authority in doing. President Trump did it with the bumpstock ban. These agencies need a strong leader that acts as a buffer from being politicized. Someone willing to be fired or blow the whistle to the media and Congress when ask to do something contrary to law. I think a majority of the everyday rank and file workers/agents want to do a good job and do whats right.
Collion and Burlison are wrong. Do not give any authority to regulate firearms to the states! Just get rid of the BATFE. Period.
As a criminal out of control government entity, the BATF has killed more innocent people than any other agency or law-enforcement agency in this country and if you don’t believe me, go check it out! 😡
They are a rogue organization and they need to be squashed and all of the “agents” that murdered innocent people, need to be in jail! 😡
The very existence of the ”F” in BATF is a direct violation of the Second Amendment!
I don’t trust the FBI but it’s a necessary entity that needs gutted, restructured, and depoliticized. I know this is about the ATF. But the true function of investigating criminal activity and persecuting the laws on the books can be done without the ATF by the FBI.
State governance is local governance and local governance is closer to the representation of the people.
Totally disagree! It is a similar approach like defunding the police. Some agencies are necessary to support the normal rule of law of our society. What we need instead is a reform so those agencies perform to the label of responsibility that have been assigned.
Another longstanding overreach and threat from ATF.
Legal definitions are Law. In the definition of “Any other weapon” it specifically excludes rifled barreled (as opposed to smooth bore barrels) pistols (all handguns). Yet, a decades old memo regarding the installation of a forward verticle hand grip on a handgun requires prior NFA Registration and paid Tax Stamp. This “requirement” is only listed on the ATF Memo and the ATF Handbook, quick reference guide. This Requirement was not made by Congress, it HAS NEVER been added to the actual Federal Laws and would be considered as an expired document under Federal Administrative Procedures since it has never been incorperated into the parent Law to which it claims will be used to fine and or imprison violators.
Yes, ATF is bad on its own and has gotten worse since DOJ lawyers started micromanaging it. Technical issues aren’t technical issues for the ATF experts anymore, they are targets for DOJ lawyers to insert “NEW Interpretations” of long existing technology and write NEW LAWS that change the specific text written by Congress. That is a power grab and gun control imposed by unelected bueracrates.
the atf should be working on the illegal gun trade, barber shop gun dealers for example, in the inner cities not the legitimate dealers!
Now it’s the other pardy that gets to start “reimagining” the governmental institutions.
