Colion Noir isn’t one to mince words, and in his latest video, he dives into Congressman Eric Burlison’s bold plan to abolish the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
Noir holds nothing back, highlighting the ATF’s long history of 2A overreach and why eliminating the agency might be the shake-up gun owners need.

The Case Against the ATF
“The ATF is a disaster. I mean, for decades, they’ve been a disaster agency,” Noir states. “They’ve been violating the Constitution and the Second Amendment.”
From Ruby Ridge to Waco and Operation Fast and Furious, Noir points to a pattern of overreach and abuse that has eroded trust in the ATF.
He also critiques recent actions like reclassifying stabilizing braces and 80% receivers, which he sees as examples of federal overreach targeting law-abiding gun owners.
“Stabilizing braces were designed to help disabled shooters, and the ATF turned around and said, ‘Nah, let’s just make millions of gun owners criminals overnight.’”
Noir argues that the ATF isn’t about public safety anymore. “It’s about control,” he says. “They’re not chasing criminals or stopping illegal gun trafficking. They’re harassing law-abiding gun owners over nonsense like bump stocks and braces.”

Congressman Eric Burlison is stepping in to introduce a bill aimed at abolishing the ATF outright, handing regulatory authority back to the states. “No Band-Aids, no half measures—just get rid of them,” Noir explains.
In a statement, Burlison said:
“I co-sponsored a bill by my good friend Matt Gaetz to abolish the ATF… and in January, I will be filing the bill that Matt Gaetz sponsored to abolish the ATF. Why? Because we’re fighting for you.”
For Noir, this isn’t just about eliminating an agency but also about addressing federal overreach and restoring the rights of gun owners. “Enough is enough. Let’s stop with the federal overreach and give the power back to the states,” he says.
Can It Actually Happen?
While the idea of abolishing the ATF is gaining momentum among some Republicans, Noir acknowledges the political challenges ahead.
“On paper, yeah, it can happen. Republicans have Congress, and Trump’s heading back into the White House. But politics will politic,” he says, calling attention to the inevitable opposition from within Congress and beyond.
Noir also outlines alternative strategies if abolishing the ATF outright isn’t feasible, including defunding the agency or repealing rules that underpin its authority.
A Call to Action
Noir sees Burlison’s bill as an important first step, regardless of its outcome.
“If nothing else, Burlison’s bill puts the ATF’s nonsense under a spotlight,” he says. “It forces people to ask, ‘Why do we even have this agency in the first place?’”
He argues that the Second Amendment community has been stuck playing defense for too long.

“We’re always fighting to stop bad laws and bad policies, but we’re never gaining ground,” he explains. “It’s time to flip the script. Let’s push for national reciprocity, getting rid of the NFA, and reclaiming our rights.”
Noir also emphasizes the importance of winning the cultural battle for gun rights.
“Take people to the range, wear your 2A merch with pride, and have those conversations about why the Second Amendment matters. When we win the culture war, the political fight becomes a whole lot easier,” he says.
Final Thoughts
While abolishing the ATF might seem like a long shot, Noir views this push as a step in the right direction.
“Whether it passes or not, it’s a reminder that we don’t have to settle for playing defense all the damn time,” he says. “We’ve got an opportunity here to fight back, reclaim our rights, and build a culture that doesn’t just protect the Second Amendment but celebrates it.”
