If you’ve never racked the slide on a Cabot 1911, you are missing out. There are a lot of good 1911s available these days, and most of them are really well built and mostly reliable. There are some things that set them apart from each other, but mostly it comes down to brand preference. When you are shelling out thousands of dollars for a gun, you tend to get what you ask for. Yet the Cabot line takes things one step further.
To say that the Cabot fit is slick would be reductive. I’ve yet to feel a gun, anywhere, that racked as smoothly. This isn’t an overstatement, or hyperbole–it is the truth. And yet the rumor I’ve been hearing lately is that the Cabot guns are modular. You can swap slides and frames and still get a fit that approximates a matched set. They are hand fit–but not hand forced like some others we won’t name.
But that’s not the news. The real development at Cabot is a more economically priced model. The new guns are not made with as many cosmetic flourishes, and they won’t have unicorn horn grips. But they should work and run like a Cabot. I am confident they will, or Cabot wouldn’t release them. The price tag for the new guns? Somewhere north of $3,000. If that doesn’t seem like an economical 1911, you clearly haven’t priced some of the other Cabots. Just try to keep from drooling over these images below. We have one of the new guns inbound, so we’ll be testing out Cabot’s claims.

I’m sorry but Cabot 1911’s are flat out Ugly! I’d rather pay those prices for a G.I. 1911 with a history.
Beyond a certain price point, I don’t know if I’d recognize any difference, but I’ll take the American Joe or a S100! They are beautiful..

I have three 1911’s a Citadel Officers model. a Para Ord P16-40 LTD (great target gun), and a plain Jane Para Ord P14-45 I carry back forth between it and the Citadel. They all will do 1.25″ -1.75′ @ 25yds if I do my job. I can’t seem to get that out my friends Glock 17
I bought one of the first Cabots, the range master and yes it will shoot 1.5 inch at 50 yards.
I like the looks of them and I’m sure they are accurate and function flawlessly. They are beautiful. How many of you have a commemorative gun you’ve never fired? I can’t afford one but still appreciate the quality of the product. I carry a modified Rock Island 1911 clone and it shoots better than any of my 4 Colt’s.
I’ll stick with “Colt.” to me it’s still the genuine article, all others are simply copies

These are a beautiful statement of where we have come to. Artistry does not stop with one painting or one sculptor. A Colt or Kimber I can afford and I’m thankful for that. My thought is the purchaser has other pistols available to take care of business and one of these would be their Mona Lisa.

Why do people have to knock something just because it is better than what they have or they can’t afford it. These firearms are indeed beautiful and are meant to show the ability of the company to produce unique firearms. Maybe when you grow up you will realize that.

I have owned a Ferrari, and a dozen Porshes, but this is just throwing money away for what looks like what someone else mentioned, “a Pimp Gun”. Show me the groupings at 25 yards. Pretty colors don’t impress. Also a big draw for thieves, and if you ever need to use it, it will be destroyed by Law Enforcement on general principals. Concealed means you want to draw as little attention to your weapon as possible, not have neon lights on it.

Well they certainly are pimp guns. I like really nice engraved pieces too but when it comes to a carry piece I carry my Wilson Combat. No it’s not engraved and all shiny but it is the absolute most reliable 1911 I have ever carried…and that has been since 1965..and through 4 years total in SE Asia

If you looked at the “S” class in person you’d never go back to any other high end 1911. If you do your homework you will see the Brian Zins took the 1911 class at the NRA Nationals two yeas in a row shooting a Cabot. I own a Cabot 1911 and true it is a work of art; however at the new price point and Cabot build in quality you will see Cabot giving less Baer and Wilson a run for their money. I also own a Les Baer 1911 Anniversary model and I can tell you their is no comparison in build quality and the Les Baer is no slouch!
They look fit for a Mexican drug lord. Do they come with a 1 1/2″ guarantee at 50 yards at that price? Didn’t think so.
