Galco launched some new gear at SHOT Show 2015 including one brand new holster and a couple of significant upgrades to existing product lines.
Galco KingTuk 2
I use the original Galco KingTuk just about daily with a full-sized 1911, Sig P226 or Sig P229. The hybrid leather / Kydex design makes it easy to carry even large guns inside the waistband. I’ve been a big fan of the KingTuk’s because of Galco’s attention to detail. The saddle leather is good and strong, but the standout features are the perfect edges, polished and radiused Kydex, and exact fit to the gun. Basically, it’s the overall quality of construction that makes it work so well lugging around a couple of pounds of pistol.

The KingTuk 2 adds a fully-adjustable magazine carrier that attaches to a Velcro pad, keeping the pistol and spare ammunition together and readily accessible. The Velcro attachment for the magazine carrier is significant as it allows you to customize ride height and cant angle of the magazine to fit your particular carry placement and style.
The KingTuk 2’s suggested retail price is $89.95.
Galco Corvus Holster
I have no idea what “Corvus” means, so rather than ask the folks at Galco and get a legitimate answer, I decided to look it up on my own. From what I can tell, it’s either a Greek figure modeled on the Babylonian raven or a ship boarding bridge used by Roman Legionnaires to attack other vessels. While I suppose you could strap it to a bird or use it to board a Carthaginian warship, I would recommend using it as either an inside-the-waistband or outside-the-waistband holster.

The Corvus is made entirely of Kydex and easily converts between IWB and OWB. It’s an open-top design for fast and easy draw and allows adjustment of cant angle. The OWB belt slots are 1 ½” and 1 ¾” while the IWB straps allow maximum belt width of 1 ¾”.
The MSRP of $79.95 give you two holsters in one.
Galco Cobra Tactical Belt
The new Cobra instructors belt is an upgrade to the existing model. With a quick release “Cobra” style buckle, it’s suitable for competition, training, or even everyday carry. The belt itself is 1 ½” wide and the Type 13 nylon webbing makes it plenty sturdy for even heavier guns. Suggested retail price is $69.95.
Galco CarrySafe Upgrades
Last year, Galco released the CarrySafe system. Think of it as a carry adapter that allows you to create a safe holster-like system in bags, packs or briefcases not originally designed for concealed carry. The CarrySafe features a sturdy panel to which you mount a Velcro holster pouch in any angle or orientation you desire. Attach the plate to the interior of a larger back with the included clip, and you’ve now got a stable method to store your gun in a larger bag.
New for 2015 is a CarrySafe Accessory Carrier. The construction allows you to use it for spare magazines, a flashlight, pepper spray or other accessories you may want to store near your gun.
