GunsAmerica / RYKER USA – Shoot Move Communicate Transition Course

Video created during 2023 Training Event

Training Description

Two Days of Rifle-Pistol-Medical Training : Invite Only

This training will be aggressive but safe, it will focus on a solid foundation of marksmanship fundamentals.  From there we will push forward.  We will break bad habits and establish new ones.  You will be challenged mentally and physically, start hydrating now.  We are going to build your confidence in your abilities to operate your equipment and critically think while in a full central nervous system override.

Training, chow and water are continuous, please plan accordingly. Rifle mags will only be loaded to 8 and pistol mags will be loaded 6 rounds.  The reason, is to ensure you get 3 times the amount of mag change, making you touch your gear a lot.

This course has a few objectives.  It will serve as your introduction to the RYKER Grip and the RYKER Method of shooting. There will be demo grips and slings on hand. You will need a minimum 3″ piece of pic rail or an mLok rail to run the RYKER Grip.  If you have not shot the grip yet no worries, 2 mags and it will be second nature to you.

We will then introduce you to operating two weapons systems.  This part of the training will introduce fundamental techniques to help you understand how to transition from rifle to pistol, when you have a stoppage of fire, malfunction, etc.  This will help you set up your equipment to serve you better.  You will work up to 2-man and 4-man drills, be introduced to bounding and cover fire.  You will be introduced to Critical Thinking Critical Response (CTCR) training scenarios.  The medical play will be introduced into the CTCR drills and will be in play until the training is complete (both days, that was a HINT).

You will be introduced to pivots, partner pivots, shooting from standing to kneeling, kneeling to prone, learning how to properly use a vehicle for cover/concealment, how to fight to and from a vehicle and more.  I am looking forward to positive saturation of information and training.

Shoot-Move-Communicate drills are going to allow you to test what you know; what you think you know and expose what you don’t know.  You will receive immediate feedback, process that information and apply that info to the drills going forward.  Remember there are no superpowers, just a solid foundation of the fundamentals.
