Mossberg had a couple of new shotguns to show off at SHOT Show 2016.  These were all built on the tried and true 930 platform. Both of these new lines are pretty cool and one of them is down right cold. (yes, that is a bad joke).

The 930 Pro Series is built to be a competition gun. They even have one called the J.M. Pro. The J is for Jerry and the M is for Miculek. If you are familiar with Jerry’s work you will know he is fast. Like crazy super human fast. The 930 is one of, if not the, fastest shotgun on the market today. So it only makes sense for Jerry and Mossberg to team up for a competition worthy shotgun. They come with oversized charging handles and some of the internals are anodized for a smoother, faster action. The JM Pro Series start around $790 MSRP and are available now.

The other new line from Mossberg is the Yeti. No, it wont keep your coffee hot or you beer cold. But it will blend in a winter, snowy environment.  Even without the white Kryptek Typhoon camo, the Yeti is pretty cool, er… bad joke again. The Snow Beast model sports a 13 round extended magazine tube for when the Abominable Snowman comes calling. Or to make sure your Yeti cooler is really bear resistant. Or so you can knock down even more snow geese, or whatever. The Snow Beast has an MSRP of $991 and is shipping now.

Being a Texan by birth, there is no apologies for Yeti of Austin. I have been told that Austin has been taken over by liberals. May have to pull an Alamo on them. But speaking for the real Texans, piss on Yeti. Hell, I went to Walmart and bought an Artic instead of a Yeti.

maybe it’s called the Mossberg Yeti because that is Kryptec Yeti pattern. Tool.

I guess you have to buy at least two of them to get a full years weather covered. Or if it is used in western Washington it could be in gray overcast skies camo.

Wonder why, on the 13 round Mossberg, they didn’t carry the end of the barrel to or a hair beyond the end of the magazine tube. Won’t take many rounds before the magazine tube beyond the end of the barrel needs refinishing due to muzzle flash.

    • john February 5, 2016, 11:35 am

the barrel is shorter than the magazine because in a three gun match you throw the shotgun into a barrel with the muzzle down. The mag extension is protecting the end of the barrel from damage.

In that case, they should design a better muzzle end, then. It just looks stupid with the mag tube hanging out in front of the barrel.
