Madonna Clarifies: ‘Blow Up the White House’ Remark

in Authors, Current Events, S.H. Blannelberry

The Material Girl may need to change her name to the Militaristic Girl after she admitted Saturday that she contemplated blowing up the White House during her speech at the Women’s March on Washington.

“Yes, I’m angry. Yes, I am outraged,” said Madonna, referring to the results of the 2016 election that saw Donald J. Trump best Hillary Clinton.

“Yes, I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House,” Madonna continued. “But I know that this won’t change anything. We cannot fall into despair.”

Well, that line about blowing up the White House, along with her repeated use of “f*ck” during the speech, set the Internet on fire.

Conservative Newt Gingrich told “Fox & Friends” Monday that Madonna is part of an “emerging left-wing fascism.”

“Frankly, the truth is she ought to be arrested for saying she has thought about blowing up the White House,” he said.

The instant backlash from her remark had the 80s pop icon walking back her comments in a post on Instagram.

“I am not a violent person, I do not promote violence and it’s important people hear and understand my speech in its entirety rather than one phrase taken wildly out of context,” she wrote. “My speech began with ‘I want to start a revolution of love’.”

Madonna went on to say, “I spoke in metaphor and I shared two ways of looking at things — one was to be hopeful, and one was to feel anger and outrage, which I have personally felt.”

“However, I know that acting out of anger doesn’t solve anything,” she continued. “And the only way to change things for the better is to do it with love.”

Now, I get why all these lefties are upset. Hillary got trounced by Trump who isn’t exactly the standard bearer for chivalry and political correctness. Yet, here is a suggestion, instead of all this endless bitching about Trump, why don’t we give the guy a chance to do what he got elected to do: Make America Great Again.

Last time I checked, health care costs were on the rise, the national debt was out of control, our immigration policy was a joke, too many people were still out of the workforce, etc. etc. Trump’s got a lot on his plate. Let’s give him some time and let’s work with the man to see if we can effect some real change.

    In reaction to the blow up the White House;
metaphor, my ass, I have never seen in my 75 years such examples of ignorance, poor sportsmanship and whining. Everyone has an opinion and is welcome to it, but, as a person, that many listen to and look up to, try to set a rational example.

  • elgavilansegoviano January 29, 2017, 2:38 pm

…..Who cares what this 80’s STD carrier left over says or do!!,….I guess the only followers she has, are scum bags like her!!,….

And since when her opinion is metter?

  • luke January 28, 2017, 12:54 am

Worse thing they could do is lock her up. Those supposedly 500,000 females ( I don’t believe ANY numbers coming from MSM ) need martyrs right now to vilify others and validate their cause. They actually elevate Ashley’s Juggs to saintly status! Sexist? Damn right! If she can, I can.

But, the really sad part of their cause? I’d bet that NONE of those in that march would ever fight for this country or support those who would. That’s the perception I’m left with about these goofballs. Oxygen thieves everyone!

  • Michael J. Salzbrenner January 27, 2017, 7:58 pm

Isn’t this a little like a police officer saying “please get back” after every bullet they put into their victim, as if that makes the action somehow acceptable? Just saying a few positive phrases intermingled with your hate filled rant, doesn’t make the rant “tolerant”. This wishy washy double speak is pathetic. You said what you wanted to say and are now looking for whatever “excuse” you can get people to swallow so you don’t have to be responsible for it. Disgusting.

WHY THE FUCK YOU GIVE THIS PIECE OF DOG SHIT WHORE A FUCKING FORUM TO “EXPLAIN” HERSELF??? WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU STUPID??? YOU DON’T LET HER OR ANY OF THEM OFF THE FUCKING HOOK!!!!! TAKE THE FUCKING GLOVES OFF BECAUSE WHETHER OR NOT YOU GET IT THEY ALREADY HAVE!!!!!

  • Allen.lee January 27, 2017, 6:15 pm

How does Madonna think that this comment can be clarified and taken out of context, seriously “I want to start a revolution of love’.” followed anyway in a speech with comments that talk about thinking of should I just quote again “I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House” These is NO way to take this out of context, NO way you can’t say your not a violent person when you talk about even thinking of blowing something up. Sorry, it doesn’t work that way, You can say you’ve even some of your stage performances where you pointed a fake gun at another performers head is an indication of violence.

  • Mike Watkins January 27, 2017, 5:04 pm

GREAT comments. Madonna, not so much.

Another Hollywood twit (twat!) who thinks the world revolves around her and her opinions. She should just take her millions and go somewhere else that suits her better. I recommend North Korea, and Kim Jong-un. I’m sure the love would be mutual.

  • NRApatriot January 27, 2017, 2:08 pm

Madonna, you old washed up slut! Why don’t you find yourself a much younger boy toy like you seem to prefer and go hide out on an secluded island till you die and get out of the way of decency?

  • A J Pavliscsak January 27, 2017, 12:13 pm

Madonna’s comment: Apparently, the left wing liberals in this country have ‘Free Speech’ and the ‘Right to Vote’ confused with the ‘Right to Bear Arms’. They believe they can say or do anything in opposition of persons duly elected who don’t support their left-wing ideology; including terroristic threats and that it’s unconstitutional to require a voter to produce some sort of legal picture ID to cast their vote, then further profess it’s not unconstitutional to require literally thousands of rules, regulations and statutes to encumber an individual entitled to legally purchase and carry a firearm. There is no fine line between protests, demonstrations, rioting, destroying public and private property, looting, etc. Do not be confused! Democrats have fostered and continue to perpetuate the left-wing violent revolutionary movement that Madonna alluded to. Had I or any other law abiding, gun toting individual made such a suggestive statement, the Secret Service (along with the FBI’s SWAT Team) would be knocking my door down the following morning at the crack of dawn. Haul her ass in, interrogate her profusely and add her name to the Secret Service’s Presidential Death Threat Watch List. Then, if she continues to profess such violent acts, put her in jail before her comments spark some depraved individual to action.

    • Z January 28, 2017, 11:38 pm

“protests, demonstrations, rioting, destroying public and private property, looting, etc.” are all distinct things. I recommend Websters Dictionary, to help you get up to speed.

  • The Beast January 27, 2017, 10:31 am

They should have arrested this idiot bitch. If it had been any of us saying that, the FBI, NSA, Homeland Security, or Secret Service would have been on our door step, putting the cuffs on, the very next day. I am so sick of these entitled liberal assholes, that I could scream. None of them understand the real world outside, because they have been to entitled for too many years.
And you can bet, when this idiot goes out in public, she has armed contracted protection around her at all times. I sure wish these fools would finally wake up and see what is going on in real America.

    • Z January 28, 2017, 11:40 pm

If that didn’t happen in, “real America” why are you upset about it?

  • Ram6 January 27, 2017, 10:28 am

“18 U.S. Code § 871 – Threats against President and successors to the Presidency: Any person who knowingly and willfully otherwise makes any such threat against the President, President-elect, Vice President or other officer next in the order of succession to the office of President, or Vice President-elect, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.”

Time to take the gloves off with these whiny, know nothing, non-voting, “celebrities”. She should be summarily arrested, and held without bond for trial under the above statute. If convicted given the maximum sentence. Maybe then these leftist jerks will get the message that it’s alright to protest but you can’t threaten the President, his family, or other elected officials noted in the law. Until this happens they will continue this type of rhetoric and eventually some nut case is going to do what they recommend. Incitement to commit murder has penalties, time for them to learn that!

    • T.bass January 27, 2017, 11:24 am

Why is she not in jail? An old woman that doesn’t have a life

    • Z January 28, 2017, 11:42 pm

She expressed a thought about a destroying a building. Surely with your ability to copy and paste legal statutes you can distinguish between The White House and The President, no?

Have a group of jack booted thugs shackle her and bring her in for questioning, with live news coverage. Hold her in the cell for the maximum allowable time, unless there is more behind the rhetoric. This is what would happen to me, or any other normal citizen, so let it happen.

    • Z January 27, 2017, 10:11 am

Such marvelous logic. How quintessentially American. “I believe in the constitution, especially the second amendment. The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed! Death to tyrants! The first amendment, what’s that?”

  • David Barnett January 27, 2017, 9:37 am

I believe you are right. She has a domicile there, at least. We don’t jail her, we fine ($$) her, then ship her back to (poor) Britannia. Why should we pay to house her?!

  • Pixel Dust January 27, 2017, 8:52 am

Madonna did her walking back because she suddenly realized that her “Hollywood exemption” from obeying laws expired on January 20, 2017.

  • jplen January 27, 2017, 8:52 am

Madonna is just another case of a Hollywood Cry Baby trying to influence the people in order to support her cause because the election didn’t go the way Her and Hollywood wanted it to. She fails to realize the fact that… “We the People” really don’t care about her opinion or the opinions of her Hollywood Counterparts. Poplar vote does not elect the President… Electoral Vote does and it’s been in effect since the Congressional Congress of 1787. Hollywood has far too many overpaid individuals who are there to Entertain us, Not Run our Country. Look back in History and see how many times the Ruler or King has ever taken the Jesters advice on how to govern his kingdom. The answer is most likely, NEVER !!! If you analyze all the Blue States won by the Democrats, you would be looking at a Map of the Highest Taxed areas in the United States.

    • NewGlarus January 27, 2017, 11:52 am

\”Hollywood has far too many overpaid individuals who are there to Entertain us, Not Run our Country.\” Have you by chance heard of our 40th president, Ronald Reagan? The Republican president who acted in over 50 films during his career before being called to active duty in the U.S. Army in 1937.While I agree Madonna is an idiot, needs to learn what is and how to use a metaphor, and should know that just because we have the right to free speech that does not mean you can say whatever horrible things you want; history shows that we have listened too and had one of those \”overpaid individuals [from Hollywood]\” you mention lead this country. Read up on President Reagan\’s Wikipedia page, he started as a Hollywood Democrat before registering Republican in 1962 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_Reagan#Radio_and_film). Instead of spewing hatred for the liberal left, take a lesson from history, they can change but only with – sorry this it actually going to rip off the only good thing about Madonna\’s speech – love and compassion.

      • Aardvark January 27, 2017, 12:33 pm

NewGlarus – You missed jplen’s point. They never claimed a “jester” never became king or ruler, they said the king or ruler never took advice from his jester. And as for Reagan, many people learn and change views as they get older and wiser. Besides, in 1962 most Democrats were more conservative than most republicans are today.

        • NewGlarus January 27, 2017, 2:13 pm

I actually left that one alone, last time I checked we were a democracy who didn’t have a ruler or king. We have elected officials who – should – work together to make sure our country runs towards a better future. Those elected officials are the voice of their constituents which means they should listen to the concerns of all of their constituents, not just the ones they decide are right or correct. Which means those “jesters” (A.K.A. constituents who – I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt on this – voted) should have their voice heard but at the same time, their voice doesn’t give them the right to demand crying rooms at universities (this is sadly true), talk about blowing stuff up because they’re upset (put on your big girl pants and move on), or to destroy property.

My point was to show that we have had someone from Hollywood lead the country and since history was brought up, I thought it would be a nugget of interesting information.

          • Z January 28, 2017, 11:49 pm

In fact, we have a Republic, sometimes referred to as a Representatative Democracy. In other words, it represents a democracy while not actually being one. Remember the Pledge Of Allegience? “.. and to the Republic, for which it stands.” If we had an actual Democracy the majority vote would decide the presidency.

  • Mike Burns January 27, 2017, 8:51 am

Do the crime serve the time. This aging snowflake committed a crime by saying she wanted to kill the president. That is a crime. This is the problem with liberals. When caught going overboard with rhetoric they fall back and say that’s not what I meant. Take responsibility for your actions and don’t break the law.

  • Robert January 27, 2017, 8:48 am

Ms. Golan, I own half a dozen rifles, four shotguns, and three handguns. The only thing I’ve ever killed was a target. For me, shooting is just like golf. I go to a range, and I try to shoot a better score than last time.
Firearms are scary and dangerous things so I’m very focused while at the range, a kind of meditation if you will, thinking of nothing but the task at hand and can ignore the everyday issues and stresses.
Owning a gun, or supporting the second amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America has nothing to do with killing. By your logic, everyone listing to hip-hop is a drug dealer. I applaud your passion, but passion without intelligence is wasted effort.

“In an early hours tweet, the President responded to Madonna with a simple sentence, “No sweety, it was a direct threat to the life of the President of the United States, and you’re fired”. The saga developed further when the office of the Attorney General of New York refused to arrest Madonna on charges of criminal conspiracy, death threats to the President and First Family, endangering national security, sedition, and treason. In an attempt to further ascertain the veracity of this story, inquiries were made of the office of Attorney General Sessions, to whit, no comment was given.” “Madonna was seen briefly as in handcuffs while being taken into central booking at 9AM this morning”. If only.
