Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Like, for example, break into a gun owner’s home and you may end up getting shot in the forehead, then arrested and charged with aggravated burglary.
That’s precisely what happened to 30-year-old Corey Landon Burgardt when he attempted to break into the home of Mr. Dudley, a Kansas resident who lives on a dead end road in Valley Center, on Sunday morning.
Mr. Dudley spoke about the experience with local news affiliate KSN.
“I got up to investigative the sound of that noise, carried with me a side arm and when I found the source of the noise there was a gentleman breaking and entering my home at which point I discharged my firearm and the suspect was hit,” Dudley said.
Lucky for Burgardt he survived the shooting, as the projectile grazed his forehead. He fled the scene but was soon apprehended by police. He was treated for the gunshot wound and then taken to jail.
Hopefully Burgardt learned a lesson. Don’t play stupid games.
