A man forced his way into the home of a Dallas, Texas, resident Thursday morning, only to scurry away after being shot by the homeowner.

Police said the suspect entered the home at around 8 a.m. The homeowner responded by shooting the intruder twice, which sent the would-be robber running for his life.

The suspect made his way out of the house and down the street a little ways before he collapsed as a result of the injury. He was transported to Baylor University Medical Center were he was reported to be in critical condition.
