Colt: Important Safety Recall for Certain Modern Sporting Rifles

Colt’s Manufacturing Company LLC (Colt) has recently discovered a potential safety issue with certain of its semi-automatic only Modern Sporting Rifles (“MSR”). Colt is voluntarily initiating a recall to protect the safety of its customers because of the potential for certain MSRs to discharge unintentionally and because of its commitment to the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

To prevent the possibility of death or serious personal injury, you should immediately stop using your MSR and not load or fire it until you have determined if it is affected, and it has been upgraded if necessary.

Under certain conditions, it is possible that some Colt MSRs may discharge a second round when the trigger is released with a live round in the chamber. Colt has identified the cause of this condition as being hammers installed in certain MSRs that do not meet Colt’s specifications. The issue will be corrected by replacing the hammer in affected MSRs.

The recall only covers the following MSRs manufactured beginning on March 5, 2021: AR15A4, CR6700A4, CR6920, CR6920-EPR, CR6920MPS-B, CR6921, CR6921-EPR, CR6933, CR6933-EPR, CR6960, LE6920-EPR, LE6920MPS-B, LE6920-OEM1, LE6920-OEM2, LE6920-R, LE6933-EPR, SP633784, and LE6920SOCOM. These MSRs could still be for sale at dealers TODAY.

Ya know you can have all the fancy schmancy parts and crap on the weapon but what counts is putting lead on target.

Many years ago (20yrs) I bought new a Glock 21 from a friend and he insisted on taking me to the range to shoot it the first time. He is a big-time competition shooter and had a Wilson 1911 all customized worth about $4,000 then. We shot at targets that were 8 inch paper plates with a one-inch square of colored paper glued to them. We stepped up the shoot, Took me about 15 seconds to dump a 13 round mag, It took him about a minute and a half or more to shoots 7 rounds. We went down range to collect our targets and I pulled my plate down and walked over to him all his rounds were in or touching the one-inch square, 11 of my 13 rounds we’re on the 8-inch paper plate when he saw my plate he said if you would shoot slower you would be more accurate. I looked at him and held the paper plate to his chest and said you shoot targets I shoot combat. What counts is putting LEAD on target.

Right on! You carry for SHTF then why not train that way!

CZ is the answer to what these boobs at Colt have done to the company. Try to show me a handgun from Colt better than a CZ. It will be a big task but CZ will likely fix Colt’s junk revolver action. I’m waiting for a CZ tuned Diamondback .22LR with 10 rounds. CZ will likely be able to make a gun that works as nice as it looks. Colt Snake revolvers up to now are just very pretty blunt instruments.

Son you are just a dumb as Slim!

      • Jake November 13, 2021, 1:52 pm

I take that as NO, you can’t show me a Colt as good or better than a CZ.

Hey Slim……Colt no longer makes their own ar15’s….I believe Daniel Defense does…..yeah…pretty funny!

  • Slim November 12, 2021, 6:51 am

I think this is so Fing hilarious since I love AR’s and own more than ten in many different calibers and lengths that I built all but one myself. Built some with piston kits from Superlative Arms, used POF’s roller cam bearing, complete nickel Teflon bolt, skeletonized titanium take down pins, titanium compensator, war Dogs skepetinized upper and lower in burnt bronze, etcetera and losers with a basic right out of the box it probably came in come over and want to TRY and talk bs about the gun I have that in EVERY WAY BLOWS their BASIC LAME COLT that has ZERO upgrades like hydraulic buffers that makes a HUGE difference in felt recoil and way faster and more accurate follow up shots or a piston kit that also allows the gun to be literally dialed in to only the needed gases to cycle the BCG and all the excess is vented out and away from the shooters face(if you have an AR AND shoot it you’ve gotten the blast of gases/unburnt powder in the face that leaks out the charging handle area that never ever happens with a piston setup since it’s a way way cleaner system not having all the gases blown back into the upper/lower… but theirs is better in THEIR minds since it has a stupid horse on it and the word “Colt!” Only thing okay about colts is the barrel and that’s IF it’s cold hammer forged, but lots of people make them and wound for sure rather have a Daniel Defense barrel than a colt any day! If your one of those LOSERS who BOTHERS others while THEY ARE SHOOTING to talk sh$t in a PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE COWARDLY WAY then do us all a huge favor and stay home where you belong since the range is for SHOOTERS NOT SPECTATORS WHO HAVE TO COMMENT ON EVERYTHING EVERYONE WHO BROUGHT GUNS AND AMMO YOU KNOW TO SHOOT is doing and WORST PART they always have crap to stay and in the end are totally wrong as they literally pick up my brass from between my legs from behind mr while in shooting that I wish I knew they were there so I could donkey kick the crap out of them as hard as I possibly can! ONE DAY!

      Off your med’s?

Or are you just as ignorant and emitionally imbalanced like the trash you are ripping on?

    • John Boutwell November 12, 2021, 10:39 am

Felt recoil on a 556 AR? come on sissy boy!

    • 2ADude November 12, 2021, 11:46 am

Slim, you sound like you have some issues and perhaps an inferiority complex. Unstable folks probably shouldn’t be allowed around firearms.

  • Punisher6 November 12, 2021, 6:46 am

And to think that some people pay about $400 for a drop in binary trigger as an aftermarket part and Colts is including it as a standard feature. 😀
Realistically, I hope that their “recall” is limited to sending out replacement hammers and/or triggers rather than the hassle of round trip shipping of the whole firearm or lower. Just about anyone can swap out those parts by themselves or have a local gunsmith do it in about five minutes.

Way to go CZ! In just a few months you have been able to screw up a great gun. Whats next in your cost saving bag………pythons with plastic barrels……..

    • Jeff November 12, 2021, 3:31 pm

Just so were clear, CZ has not taken over Colt operations or manufacturing yet and started making changes… It’s still business as usual at Colt with the old guard, which is likely why these guns are screwed up.
