Eberlestock is known for producing some of the best outdoor gear on the market, from clothing and sleeping bags to hunting packs and camera bags. I am sure this trend will continue with their newest release: the Hercules Duffel.
This duffel bag was designed to be a great option for soldiers and hunters alike when transporting gear to and from the field. With the separately enclosed hard case in the bottom of the bag, you can throw in your bow, rifle, pistols, or any combination thereof and know that it will be protected when traveling in a bumpy truck or airplane or helicopter, etc.
The top half of the bag is soft in construction and has several external pockets as well as a large main storage area that is split up by three removable velcro dividers. On top of the bag, there are clear plastic zipper pockets that can be handy for storing hunting tags or other identifying information one needs at the ready.
Because this bag is so big, Eberlestock reinforced it on the bottom with polymer skid bars. This makes the bag stiffer as well as more resistant to wear over time. They also had the forethought to add wheels so that it could be easily scooted around.
This duffel has lockable zippers so you can fly with valuable content and maintain peace of mind that your belongings are secured. Also, the Hercules has compression straps across the top that will help minimize the size of the bag when packed.
The Hercules Duffel is covered by Eberlestock’s lifetime warranty. The version we saw at SHOT was a prototype so minor design tweaks and improvements may be on the way.
We’re looking forward to getting our hands on one when they start shipping later this year. Stay tuned for a full review.
