Grayguns is pleased to announce that they are now taking orders for the limited edition Modern Classic P320, drawing inspiration from John Browning’s Model 1911. This full-size competition pistol is all hand-fit using a combination of factory parts and custom-made components by Grayguns.
“Our goal was to focus on the weight and the balance first, and introduce a classic 1911 spin with utility-driven serrations in strategic areas,” said Grayguns.
The Modern Classic P320 lives up to its name with clean lines all along the slide, including fine slide serrations at the front and rear. The custom stainless steel slide features a hand-fit stainless steel barrel and an in-house Grayguns stainless fat guide rod and a 15-pound recoil spring assembly.
The slide assembly is a little longer than a standard full-size P320 with a 5-inch barrel, with long serrations along the length of the topstrap to cut glare. The slide is cut for sights but comes standard with a shop-installed Romeo3 Max compact open reflex red dot sight.
“Developed in collaboration with Team SIG Captain, Max Michel, this compact, open reflex sight features a 30mm wide, round lens design for superior field-of-view, a special red-notch filter for vivid red dot, and unrivaled optical clarity,” said Grayguns. “This package features the 3 MOA dot size for rapid target engagement, twelve illumination intensity levels, MOTAC activation, and up to 20,000 hours of runtime.”
Internally the Modern Classic P320 uses a tuned fire control unit that’s also hand-fit to the slide. The fire control unit comes with a choice of either a Graguns Hybrid or Straight Adjustable Competition Trigger Kit.

Grayguns opted to use SIG’s AXG X-Series aluminum alloy grip frame, which contributes to its old-school appeal. The grip comes with Hogue machined G10 panels and provides a rail for accessories. Each Modern Classic P320 ships with one 21-round extended magazine. It of course is compatible with standard 17-round flush-fitting P320 magazines.
Predictably, the pricing for these is up there with other hand-built custom guns at $2,169. Fortunately for existing SIG P320 owners, Grayguns does sell a lot of their parts separately and currently has plans to offer these premium slide assemblies as well.
If you’re interested in ordering one of these limited-edition Modern Classic P320s or just thinking about getting some P320 upgrades, head over to Grayguns today.
I dig the pistol but if someone could slow-walk me through what the hell the “… classic 1911 spin” OF it is, I would appreciate it.
Todd.
The slide. That’s it.
