Last Wednesday a good guy with a gun stopped a knife-wielding robber who had stabbed an elderly citizen near a bus stop in Orange County, Florida.
Jeffery Hopkins, the armed samaritan, was exiting his vehicle when he saw the suspect attacking the victim with a knife.
“As I was getting out, I noticed the guy had a knife in his hand so I went for my gun and took him down,” Hopkins told WFTV. “He looked at me very scared. Then realized I was serious and dropped the knife and laid down immediately.”
When Orange County deputies arrived they arrested the alleged perpetrator who was identified as Thomas Thorpe. Meanwhile the victim, Donald Sacco, who was stabbed several times, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was said to be in stable condition.
Hopkins said he was just doing what he thought was right.
“If it was my father or anybody like that out there getting attacked, people need to get involved,” Hopkins said.
That’s good work!
Thanks Jeffery.
Now all you other good guys take charge and exercise your 2nd amendment right by owning and enjoying firearms before the domestic terrorist in charge takes it away.
Good man. That is why I carry. We have a duty to self, others and the state.
This is a great thing, but also very dangerous when you step into someone’s shoes( the requirement to act in someone’s behalf) sometimes it is hard to know who the good guy is. It may not be as clear as it appears. The guy that you thought was the good guy may shoot you. I have seen it happen. I am an instructor for law-enforcement as well as civilians. I am a former member of the real Miami vice squad and dept.
Another reat example of a person stepping forward to help those less fortunate. I wonder if the older elderly citizen was a VET?
You never hear this on the news. They only have bad news (bad guy with a gun). Making the gun toter a bad guy.
You are 100% right!
