Georgia Gubernatorial Candidate Holding Bump Stock Giveaway

State Sen. Michael Williams is as pro-2A as it gets.

Here we go, a politician that actually gets it.

Georgia State Sen. Michael Williams, who is also running for governor, is holding a bump stock giveaway.  Click here to enter!

Yes, undoubtedly it’s a calculated move to get media coverage, rankle the moonbats, and gin up support for his candidacy.  Williams is a brazen Republican, naturally.

But, aside from the tactical benefits that serve his campaign, this giveaway sends a clear message to those that want to blame inanimate objects for violence.

“The tragedy in Las Vegas broke my heart, but any talk of banning or regulating bump stocks is merely cheap political lip service from career politicians,” said Williams, hitting the nail directly on the head.

“In reality, the bump stock is the new, shiny object politicians are using to deceive voters into believing they are taking action against gun violence,” he continued.

Williams went on to say that the use of bump stocks in the Vegas attack probably “prevented more casualties” due to its “inconsistency, inaccuracy and lack of control.”

“There is zero evidence that banning bump stocks would prevent any gun violence deaths,” said Williams.

“Georgia’s gun owners deserve a governor who will stand with them when liberals and Hollywood elites attack our fundamental rights,” he added. “That’s why I am standing for the second amendment and giving away a bump stock as a show of support.”

Dianne Feinstein is leading the charge to ban bump stocks and other accessories at the federal level.  And there’s been movement in a handful of states to do the same, including Massachusetts. Illinois, Ohio, and Maryland.

“I will stand up for the Second Amendment against liberals and weak Republicans who wish to limit our freedoms,” concluded Williams. “Not only that, I will continue to call out Democrats and Republicans who provide cheap talk and excuses rather than solutions.”

Yep, I like the cut of his jib.

Held my nose and voted for Kemp. Beady eyed bastard. Besides, bump stocks are a waste of ammo.

Best wishes for your upcoming gubernatorial race! We’ve heard the cry after virtually every “gun violence” event” We have to do something.” Sadly, that something is always a violation of the 2nd Amendment in some form or fashion. The amendment was meant to allow citizens, not subjects, a means by which they could challenge a tyrannical government. People today seem to forget that the Constitution is a limitation on the government and not the people. With regard to bump fire stocks, I was an early adopter and now have 4 and shoot them regularly. At my age, they’re the most fun you can have with your pants on. But that aside, the stocks were allowed by the BATFE using current law with regard to accessories for firearms. They were found by the chef of the branch to fully conform with being considered a legal accessory and not a firearm. By the way, you apparently have had little or no experience with the stocks. They are neither inconsistent, inaccurate, nor uncontrollable. I shoot mine with complete confidence and I hit what I aim at with no operational issues whatsoever. Again, all the best – I hpe to address you a Governor at some point in the future!

Michael is my candidate! He’s a champion of conservative causes in Georgia, and an unabashed 2nd Amendment supporter. If there’s any way you guys can contribute a few dollars to his campaign, please do. We DESPERATELY need true 2nd Amendment supporters in Georgia right now. Every other candidate for governor is a pretend supporter – not ONE of them has supported any of the good bills that have been introduced, and in fact they’ve all been instrumental in making sure they got bottled up in committees and thus died. What a lousy bunch! Help us get Michael elected … please!

Sorry, this guy strikes me as just another politician looking for publicity. I am an avid 2nd amendment advocate. I have CCP and carry regularly.

However having said that I really am uneasy with this whole “bump stock” preservation idea. First and foremost, fully automatic weapons have been illegal in the U.S. since the 1930s with the passage of the National Firearms Act of 1934. It was since amended in 1968 but even though you can possess them you must pass multiple background checks and pay exorbitant fees and taxes along with the actual purchase of the weapon itself which isn’t cheap. “Bump stocks” truly violate the spirit of the act which in it’s current form has been found constitutional. While not creating a truly “automatic” weapon, it might as well be one considering the rate of fire they allow.

I believe fighting this ban on bump stocks, just like the silly act of carrying around AR15s and wearing bandoleers to emphasize constitutional carry in states that don’t have it does more harm to our attempts to legitimately and intelligently prevent erosion of the 2nd amendment. It makes us look totally unreasonable . I believe that while we must fight any attempt to either eliminate or further regulate the 2nd amendment which clearly states that ” the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed” to reflexively act as if any control such as this current fight to ban “bump stocks” is a violation of the act also alienates all those citizens who support the amendment but see this fight as unreasonable. There is nothing in the amendment we are trying to protect which addresses accessories to weapons, which “bump stocks” clearly are just that.

I would respectfully suggest that this politician is doing our cause more harm than good and is playing right into the hands of all those who want to confiscate or severely restrict our rights.

You had a lot to say about this so I take from that it’s something you feel strongly about. Do some research so you know what you’re talking about.

There’s more than one Gun Control Act. GCA of 1934 imposed a tax on machine guns, it did not make them “illegal.” Machine guns are still legal to this day, depending on where you live. GCA of 1968 imposed regulations on interstate commerce in guns, made it necessary to have an FFL. GCA of 1986 banned new importation of machine guns. Which is why the MP-5 you bought in 1985 may have cost you $800.00. In 2000 it cost $9,000.00 and today costs about $15-20K. Still not illegal just heavily regulated and naturally have an inflated resale value.

More importantly, HB3999 is not just about bump fire stocks. Bump fire stocks AREN’T EVEN MENTIONED in the bill by name. It’s purposely vague so gun grabbers can go after a lot more than that. You don’t have to take my word for it. Watch the video MAC, Mrgunsandgear and many others have made explaining it on YouTube. Then read the bill for yourself and give an educated opinion on whether or not this is something we should resist.

Hitting the nail on the head for me was razzing career politicians. Term limits might cure some of the mess we have in our government.
