Dayne Victor Miller, a Cape Coral, FL resident, faces charges after discharging a firearm in his house. Miller’s actions were in response to a tenant, who rents one of the rooms in his house, who climbed into his teenage daughter’s bed naked.

A release from the Cape Coral Police Department states that Miller and two occupants of the rented room were drinking heavily the night of March 8th. After retiring to their rooms for the evening, the male tenant left his room to use the restroom.

However, attempting to return to his bed, he “mistakenly went into the bedroom of the teenage female.” He got in bed with the teenager and fell asleep naked.

The teenager woke up and immediately told Miller. Additionally, the man’s spouse woke him up yelling that he was in the wrong room.

After the two tenants returned to their room and locked the door, Miller began pounding on it, shouting, “I’ll kill you.”

Miller then fired his handgun three or four times into the floor outside the bedroom door.

Miller called the police and told them that one of his roommates was naked in his teenage daughter’s bedroom. Additionally, it caused him to shoot at them through the door, according to Cape Coral Police.

When police arrived, they escorted the two renters out of the room and arrested Miller. They found shell casings and bullet holes in the floor outside the bedroom door.

Aftermath

Although there were shots fired, no injuries were reported, and Miller cooperated fully with police officers.

Further, Miller is charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. No other arrests or charges have been reported.

Miller is being held at Lee County Jail.

And with the money he made on rent…he couldn’t afford to put a lock on his daughter’s door?
    Hmmmmm.

A government that fears it’s citizens being armed is a government to be feared.
Stupid people do stupid things. Banning the things that stupid people use to commit stupid acts will not cure stupid. Politicians have caused more injury and death than any individuals with a gun.

Oh bad things happen when you rent to a loser, so your daughter got to pay for your error in judgement. Could have been all avoided, what dumbass.

Well … a classical example of “drink too much, get drunk and … be stupid”. Doesn’t help much the 2A case, more fuel for the gun-control camp. Miller is really really really lucky no one got hurt, let alone killed. Is it really the kind of writing that should be on Guns America ?
