Facebook Bans Private, Person-to-Person Gun Sales

in 2nd Amendment – R2KBA, Authors, Current Events, S.H. Blannelberry, This Week

Last Friday, Facebook announced that it would ban users from selling firearms on its social media platforms unless they are a licensed dealer.

The move has two goals: (a) ensure all buyers undergo background checks, and (b) attempt to eliminate illegal transfers or sales to prohibited persons, e.g., minors, mental defectives, felons, drug addicts, domestic abusers, etc.

Although it’s not known for being a gun exchange, Facebook has 1.6 billion monthly visitors. A non-trivial number of those visitors are gun owners who used the virtual community, and its photo-sharing service Instagram, to negotiate gun sales.

But that’s all over. Moving forward, only Federal Firearm Licensees (FFLs) will be allowed to conduct transfers, which means that prospective buyers will have to pay the dealer transfer fee and undergo a background check, according to The New York Times.

Naturally, gun-control organizations like former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety hailed it as a victory.

“Moms are grateful for Facebook’s leadership today in announcing that they will end all unlicensed gun sales arranged on their platforms,” said Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, which along with Mayors Against Illegal Guns makes up Everytown for Gun Safety.

“Two years ago, our campaign to get Facebook to change how their platforms host firearm sales resulted in nine new policies to curb children’s exposure to guns and to clarify state laws around selling and buying guns online,” continued Watts.

“Our continued relationship with Facebook resulted in today’s even stronger stance, which will prevent dangerous people from getting guns and save American lives,” said Watts.

Facebook has not yet released a statement explaining the decision or confirming if its new stance is a result of conversations with Everytown for Gun Safety.

Facebook currently prohibits people from offering marijuana, pharmaceuticals, and illegal drugs for sale on its platforms.  Firearms are now on that list as well.

Quite honestly, we don’t know why anyone would go to Facebook when you can easily buy, sell firearms on GunsAmerica!  After all, we’re an unabashedly pro-gun destination that encourages everyone to responsibly exercise their Second Amendment rights.

So, forget Facebook!  Buy, Sell Guns on GunsAmerica!  Spread the word 🙂

Well what did you think would happen as we all sheepishly acquiesce to the totalitarian juggernaut as it proliferates into every facet of your life? I FIRST WARNED about Facebook a couple years ago that the CIA/NSA/FBI 4/A destruction consortium considers to be the best thing for populate disarmament since ATF Fiat Decrees.

If anyone still believes that background checks are Not illegal gun registration and that they actually stop criminals from getting guns, and that the gun control monster is just a pet dawg that wags its shit stained tail for your public safety, just wait until you see the previews of what’s coming soon, to a theater near you..

If we don’t start repealing all these gun control laws NOW!

Don’t think they’ll just stop with illegal license plate scanners that moron ‘taxpayers’ allow them to use at gun show parking lots for their ‘gunshow loophole data base’. Maybe if I think anyone cares, I’ll give everybody the exact specific plan they have for tactical disarmament of the population, when ‘needed’. With a couple new technologies becoming ready by the end of 2017, you won’t have to worry too much a out facebook or craigs list anymore…

Tshe only thing everyone will be murmering under their breath so they are not heard by the ‘all listening EAR’ is “Oh Fuck, we should have made our legislatgors repeal every Federal Gun law/Act…

While we still had the chance.

I agree with Micheal – the one earlier in the comments ! I was on it a long time ago, maybe 4 years or so ago . I sat down to write something to someone in my family and it struck me that this is one of the stupidest things I had ever done – sober ! I put the laptop away and have”nt had any desire to get on it since . As far as Farcebook is concerned, that they don’t feature guns any more ——so what. I’ll go to my favoerite gun shop Welchers here in Tacoma/University Place . I’ve talked to a lot of guys there and FB never has come up !

  • howard2374 February 6, 2016, 7:56 pm

Well, it’s time to move on to Google+

  • Allen Benge February 6, 2016, 4:06 pm

This limey doesn’t know what he is talking about. You have not been able to purchase firearms online, directly for a number of years now. All online gun sales, by federal law, MUST go through a Federal Firearms Licensed dealer. The penalties are quite severe for not using an FFl dealer. The narrator sits over there in the UK and shoots his mouth off about what goes on in the US that he has no idea what is true and what is anti-gun hype. The sites that I was a member of had very strict rules. There were no off the books sales, a condition of being a site member was to follow all federal , state and local laws, and that meant ALL sales went through FFL dealers. Let’s face it, Zuckerberg just got a case of weak in the knees because of Moms Demand Action, a bunch of old biddies who go into hysterics if they ever see a gun, and whose leader urges her members to ‘SWAT’ anyone they see carrying a gun. ‘SWATting’ consists of calling the police, reporting a man with a gun, and telling whatever lies they think will have the police arrive on the scene primed to shoot someone. Zuckerberg, by shutting down those sites, just assisted in aiding Obama in getting a little bit closer to disarming all legal, law-abiding citizens, until only criminals and the government have weapons, oh, I see, that’s redundant.

Faceberg stole the FB platform from white people, his own customers, in fact. Fuck him and may he rot in the sun. hahhahaha. I love the story about a Mossberg washcloth that sold for $400 last week.

  • John February 6, 2016, 8:29 am

I’m one of those people who has no idea how many guns I have. I’m also a libertarian who thinks Facebook can do whatever they want to do.

  • Mike February 6, 2016, 8:29 am

The guns stolen out of my son’s apartment were sold on Facebook. Wonder how many other stolen firearms we’re sold on Facebook?

    • Mark Tercsak February 9, 2016, 9:49 am

You sons Firearm or Firearms were stolen out of his apartment !
They were then Illegally sold on Face Book !
How did you come to learn that they were sold on facebook?
Were your sons firearm/firearms recovered ?
Personnely speaking what do you think is going to happen now that Facebook has shut this option down ?
Weapons will be stolen, and will be sold, It seems to me that either the Police, or a family member got the bright idea of tracking Facebook because you found out they were sold on that site. It also sounds like they were recovered by someone and that prevented something bad from happening !

  • james coopet February 5, 2016, 10:54 pm

Big deal. I use guns america and do it the “right” way anyway. Selling guns on fakebook is like selling ships on a florist’s site.

  • borg February 5, 2016, 9:43 pm

Facebook’s new policy is going to be unenforceable since it would be impossible to know which poster is licensed dealer and which one is not. Also someone wanting to circumvent the policy can simply make a post bragging about his or her custom 1911 describing how much money it costed and arrange a sale be it legal or illegal by personal messages.

  • Michael February 5, 2016, 8:21 pm

I don’t use FarceBook. Sharing my every thought, bodily function, emotion, or action with complete strangers (or friends) seems to me either particularly stupid or unbelievably egotistical. Apparently however, there are millions of people who are so gullible.

  • Jim L. Davis February 5, 2016, 8:17 pm

How is facebook going to enforce this ban? It will take a lot of manpower to monitor millions of accounts for Politically Correct posts. It will cost mega bucks so let them try. If you do advertise how do they know if you have an FFL. PayPal banned gun sales but that is how I still accept payment. They don’t know if what you sell is a gun or candy. Of course, some ass hole out there may occasionally say what payment is for. They are too stupid to own a gun anyway. I once had a guy I bought a black powder revolver from go to the post office to mail it and when ask it package contained anything dangerous, he commented “It could be”. They didn’t take kindly to that and refused acceptance. He had to drive to a different PO, keep his mouth shut, and mail by Priority Mail. As Forest Gump always said, “Stupid is has stupid does”.

  • Mikial February 5, 2016, 8:06 pm

Who cares? Facebook is a Liberal, Muslim loving digital rag that allows terrorists to maintain pages but stops Christians and gun lovers.

No one at my house uses FB, and no one at my house ever will. It is a stupid forum for people who think the world cares what they had for lunch and wants to see pictures of them trimming their toenails. Beyond that, FB facilitates criminals robbing, stalking and burglarizing people through their own stupidity. Trust me, none of us need FB to sell a gun, or buy one.

  • Larry Koehn February 5, 2016, 6:35 pm

You have to be mentally challenged to display your life on Facebook!

    • Mikial February 5, 2016, 8:02 pm

So true! FB is the biggest invasion of personal privacy I have ever seen.

    • Gunny February 5, 2016, 8:50 pm

Larry you are a very intelligent person!!! People need to get a life.

  • Jacj Cline February 5, 2016, 5:27 pm

I am sad for anyone whoever had a Facebook account. “Ooooo look what I did!”. “Look what I shot”. “Look at this big ol booger”. Blah blah blah. Get a life. Your so fullof pride its pathetic.

    • Rayber February 6, 2016, 12:54 am

If you can’t pass a back ground check you should not be allow to have a firearm. If you have a problem with that then you are probably a felon. This action at least slows down the free and easy public sales of weapons to documented felons and the mentally ill. What’s the problem. The NRA hates this.. one reason why is one of their ranking (Highly paid) administrative personal like a VP or something is a frigging felon and has done time. He’s a great representative of a group trying to protect our gun rights. Virginia’s Governor had just sign a bipartisan bill to allow the State police to do back ground checks at a citizens request. This is at gun shows now. It’s hope that in the near future we can call the State Police and a trooper will come by your location and run a check on a person you want to sell a gun to. WHAT’S wrong with that?? There’s no registration no fee.. and you know you haven’t sold a gun to a felon or a mentally ill person or some one involved in a domestic problem (When a specified period passes and the problem is solved the ban is lifted by the court. SO what’s wrong with that.

      • SteveA February 6, 2016, 1:48 pm

Why should I have to pass a background check in the first place? Aren’t we presumed innocent til proven guilty?
So why should any of us be considered guilty until we prove ourselves?

    • Ken Kaminski March 24, 2017, 7:40 pm

Why do you think they called him little hittler

  • Glennon February 5, 2016, 3:40 pm

Zuckeberg backed Muslims in a big way after the murders in San Bernardino which makes him a damn fool. Who does he think the islamists want to kill first…the Jews. I am sick of these elitists like Bloomberg and this idiot trying to dictate to the rest of us. They have their armed body guards so they “feel” secure for now. I totally back our men and women in our local police dept. for they have a difficult job made worse by the leftwing and radicals. They are first responders who cannot be every where all the time. I consider myself & my family’s first defender and I pity any one who thinks you can just attack us or try to break down the door to our home because my dogs and I know how to take care of this or any situation that may arise. You elitists think you are safe, but they can get to you if and when they are ready. You would think that these people would have learned a lesson from WWII’s Europe and today’s socialist Europe and what they are now facing with the Islamic invasion created by ISIS!!!

  • Isand Firearms Inc. February 5, 2016, 3:32 pm

I am a family owned sporting goods store with FFL, 7 miles from downtown Pittsburgh. If any private owners or buyers want to transfer firearms that they would like to buy from other people, I will transfer them for you. Call and ask what you need to do.
    Phone, 412-264-4867 10am to 5:30pm M thru F, Sat. 7am to 5:30pm Sun. closed.

    • Paul Helinski February 5, 2016, 3:55 pm

Why don’t you sign up for our drop of locations? Like 4 people are going to read your comment and remember it, but 2 million people a month are on GunsAmerica looking for dealers to transfer personal sales for them.

      • Doug Roy February 5, 2016, 4:55 pm

The man is doing the right thing.

    • Kenneth February 6, 2016, 1:05 am

I will hazard a guess that you are not going to do transfers for free out of the kindness of your heart. How much do you stand to profit from your transfers? Free advertising on the back of a gun rights setback just doesn’t seem right…

    • rayber5901 February 6, 2016, 1:07 am

This is what it’s all about. I’d like for him to publish his fee. I think if these guys should have a token fee like $5 in stead of the common fee around me is $25-$30 buck to make a phone call is a bit piggish. Buy a 6.5 mm Carcano Model 91/38 carbine for $29.95 plus postage and handling and paying $25 for a back ground check to do it is a bit much… screw you and just sell it to him so he can go into the old library and shoot Kennedy.(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_F._Kennedy_assassination_rifle) I didn’t have $29.00 to by anything but food in those days. My $73 a month Navy pay didn’t allow much more then food. It was $138 before taxes when Kennedy was killed. (getting off track)

  • Robert Circle February 5, 2016, 2:33 pm

Simple solution. About a million of us should shut down our Facebook accounts . I did.

    • Scott in Atlanta February 5, 2016, 4:44 pm

As I did as well, quite some time ago. The thought of supporting that left-wing idiot Pukerberg makes me sick. Fire FaceBook, everyone!

    • Mark Wynn February 5, 2016, 8:01 pm

A million? That’s a drop in the Facebook bucket.

  • Dr. Strangelove February 5, 2016, 2:31 pm

FB is a privately owned co. and they can do as they wish. I cancelled my account there long ago.

  • Tony February 5, 2016, 1:36 pm

Ironic. This from a company that looks the other way when it comes to gang postings. Literal violence via Facebook. Sure it may not be overt, but the mere fact that individuals and groups of gang members flashing signs, wearing their stupid “colors,” open display of weapons that are most often than not stolen, just unreal. Evil amongst the sheep. Drugs openly displayed on other postings, so proud they are. How fine it is to continue to line the cartel’s coffers with money that is a fools desire. Thanks Facebook! You’ve proven nothing except that you have no idea what your doing! Drugs as well as guns will always be transacted via Facebook. You’ve got no more control over your company than a dog that has to relieve itself. Freaking losers.

    • Joel February 5, 2016, 2:27 pm

Yeah. Facebook should not take action and continue to allow illegal gun sales.

      • Michael February 5, 2016, 4:05 pm

How does FB “allow legal gun sales”? You do realize that it is NOT against Federal law to purchase a firearm from a private citizen without a background check right? Do you have any idea how many sales “facilitated” via facebook are actually illegal or you just making noise about something you *think* you know? Do you really think that this is going to stop people who are barred from possessing a gun at all? Can you tell me what percentage of firearms purchased through a facebook group are sold to an end user who cannot possess one? Of course you don’t know the answer to any of these questions. You let your feelings dictate what should be allowed rather than what is the law.

        • Mark Wynn February 5, 2016, 10:31 pm

Facebook, a worldwide, social media site, with subscribers who can remain anonymous and can restrict who can view their accounts, would be a highly useful tool for persons who want to deal in illegal gun transaction, Michael.

        • Rayber February 6, 2016, 1:39 am

If it prevent one illegal gun sale and prevent one death then it’s a good thing. It could be you or your girl friend that’s the target. Don’t be so stupid. It doesn’t effect any legal law abiding citizen…. JUST the bad guys. Can you pass a back ground check????
How about noting on your drivers license or state ID that you are a felon or not a felon. (other appropriate wording) You have gun and no ID the cops hold your gun until you provide the ID. If you get arrested and are charged you get a temporary ID stating such. No penalty for being charged, you are innocent until proven guilty. Your weapon(s) are held until the court passes judgement on the charge. Lost ID or left at home.. weapon is held until you provide the license. A fine would be up to the judge. I left my license at home today. My conceal carry license and drivers license were sitting on my desk. I was in another county 40 miles from home. Woo with me…….. If I was at home I could call my sheriff if a new deputy didn’t know me and get rescued. I’d probably have to go to the next firearms training class and be made a goat for the good of the students of what not to do. Case closed but away from home yuck… multiple tickets and questionable arrest for the concealed weapon. I was 7 miles from Va. Tech. The info could be run and I’d get a second ticket. I know I would be in for a good butt chewing. My sheriff supports gun ownership and conceal carry and he also supports this back ground check requested by the Presidents as well as of our Governor.

      • Kenneth February 6, 2016, 1:14 am

Only criminals buy and sell guns illegaly. They really don’t need Facecrook to facilitate the sales of illegal weapons. Facecrook’s new rules have changed nothing in the illegal gun trade, I can just imagine the Cartel saying “Oh damn! Whatever shall we do now? I can’t buy my guns on Facecrook any more! I guess I just won’t be able to get any more illegal guns!”. Yep, I can hear it now! Facecrook buckled to the pressure put on it from a gun control organization. Nobody can think for themselves any more. No, we need organizations like that telling us what to do or we will cease to function as human beings! How ever would we survive if jerks like that were not around to tell us how to live our lives???

  • Jaymie February 5, 2016, 1:24 pm

I don’t really care. I don’t pay for Facebook, so I don’t really have a right to dictate what rules they have. Just like a business that hangs a no gun sign on it’s doors – I will simply no longer patronize them.

  • Johnny February 5, 2016, 1:05 pm

Oh I see. So pages set to telling and endorsing others to kill hunters and their families, personally naming them, phone numbers, even their children’s identities, pics, schools and locations is perfectly ok and “Not a violation of the FB ethics code-” but, saying you have a firearm for sale that needs to still go thru a dealer for the transfer must be stopped immediately. Yeah, that makes perfect sense…???? They call the aggressive anti activists pages and posts a first amendment right. Guess FB and those who probably pushed for this forgot you can’t have a 1st amendment or any other without the 2nd amendment.

As others have pointed out and as I’ve understood it, any post is basically protected under the first amendment as freedom of speech. Whether you are pro or anti firearm, whether you’ll admit it or not, I think anyone can clearly see the pure hypocrisy here.

  • Bob February 5, 2016, 1:00 pm

I am a Patron member of the NRA. This is a non-issue for me, since I wouldn’t buy a gun through there anymore than I would Craigslist. It has to be understood that Face to Face sales offers are posted on gun specific sites, of which there are many already. Social media is not a good place for legitimate gun sales, in my opinion.

    • Mark Wynn February 5, 2016, 10:33 pm

Word, Bob. Thanks for injecting common sense.

  • Roger L Meyer February 5, 2016, 12:45 pm

I never visited Facebook very often but now I will simply delete it from my computer.
Any web site that restricts or ignores the Constitution should NOT have any subscribers.

  • Rick February 5, 2016, 12:29 pm

No firearm ever changed hands over the Internet. You have been denied 1ST Amendment 100%. This is your past as well as your future, This is how and is the way the Constitution has become…. and will become. Null and Void. It is the future, It is the Brave New World “They” have been talking about since at least the 1940’s. You will obey and enjoy it. Or fire will be called out of heaven… and in a puff of smoke and fire… and massive amount of shrapnel. You will disappear. Drones fly at 35,000 feet. You can’t see them nor hear them. Bye, bye.

    • Mark Wynn February 5, 2016, 10:36 pm

No firearm transaction has ever been initiated over the internet? — Because, that’s what we’re talking about, not the physical handing over of a firearm to another. Duh!

  • SGTMAC February 5, 2016, 12:22 pm

Selling marijuana and drugs is illegal, selling guns as an individual is not.

    • Joel February 5, 2016, 2:30 pm

Yeah, individual sales are legal, so that makes it right.

      • Scott in Atlanta February 5, 2016, 4:46 pm

No, it being Constitutional makes it A right that you have NO RIGHT to infringe upon. What about that do you not understand?

  • Mark Wynn February 5, 2016, 12:18 pm

Makes sense to me. The argument is that an individual should be able to sell or give his/her weapon to a relative, friend, acquaintance. However, anyone selling through worldwide advertising (social media) ought to be a registered gun dealer.

    • Will Hopkins February 5, 2016, 12:47 pm

I will sell whatever I own. I will buy whatever I want. You may do the same I could care less.

      • Mark Wynn February 5, 2016, 10:46 pm

You may claim you can buy or sell whatever you want, or make any other bravado statement you want, I could care less. One thing we both know … you won’t be doing it on Facebook.

    • Kenneth February 6, 2016, 1:19 am

They don’t get the gun until I see a purchase permit and valid ID or a valid conceal carry permit. Period! Who would be stupid enough to mail a gun to someone on Facecrook anyway? Contact via Facecrook and transfer face to face. What the hell is so wrong with that???

  • Mark Wynn February 5, 2016, 12:18 pm

Makes sense to me. The argument is that an individual should be able to sell or give his/her weapon to a relative, friend, acquaintance. However, anyone selling through worldwide advertising (social media) ought to be a registered gun dealer.

      • Mark Wynn February 5, 2016, 10:59 pm

Have never understood how blog commenters can cast their personal agendas on people they don’t know. I not only own guns but use them, starting with BB gun training in Cub Scouts, through upland game hunting in Nebraska, a 30-year military career (Expert, with Oak Leaf), and, at age 71, weekly sessions at the indoor range, and Issac Walton range in season. Latest bucket list goal: concealed carry permit. What guns? — Not getting into that on an internet site.

  • Ranchdude February 5, 2016, 11:58 am

  • Gary February 5, 2016, 11:55 am

people do not want Gunsamerica and like because of required FFL paperwork, they want that unregistered weapon that not now is not linked to them and would not be looked for on a Gun Grab by the government. Just get the 4473’s hunt down the weapons to disarm your enemies.

    • harold melton February 5, 2016, 1:00 pm

It is very sad that the USA has so many mental challenged citizens that are so narrow minded about any issues. Many also suffer from paranoia about some great military power taking away their toys, guns. Meanwhile the GOP has further planned to hurt the middle class even more by privatizing Social Security, voucher for Medicare and the further destruction of the education system in the US. Greed by the many CEO’s for higher salaries and the narrow minded Unions demanding insane salaries for their members have forced many manufacturing companies to move oversea. The GOP do not think that ALL American citizens should have access to healthcare and a decent technical education to compete with other nations. Now corrupt and insensitive people like the governor and his staff and the leadership of the FDA have subject the health of thousands of residents to save money by allowing the poisons to flow through the lead water pipes of Flint Mich. But during the CSPAN hearing it seems that at least 9 other cities have contaminated drinking water, that the US FDA says it is ok to drink.

      • Mark Wynn February 5, 2016, 11:07 pm

Harold, suggest you’ve gotten off-subject, here. However, I can’t let your disinformation about the Flint, Mich. situation stand unchallenged. It was the Dem. mayor and Dem. city council that made the decisions that resulted in lead poisoning, and the governor appointed the Dem. “expert” that Flint wanted in charge of testing. Thanks

What the heck is a “non-trivial number” – more Liberal non-sense. However, as a NRA member and collector for 50 years I have no real issue with Facebook’s move – it make’s sense, and there are plenty of legal avenues to purchase online that are much more secure for both purchaser and seller. Interesting to note that the video narrator is a Brit – part if a nation of sheep who willingly have given up their rights.

  • Tommy Barrios February 5, 2016, 11:06 am

We just call it “ButtBook” around these parts and to those yammering to shut it down, just remember censorship works both ways!

Facebook is one of the stupidest ideas ever invented. Here is yet another example and reason for everyone to close their accounts and GET A LIFE. It is hard to believe that the people of today’s live’s are so boring and lonely, that they have to have a machine to talk to, so that they feel important. All these idiots trying to take away our second amendment rights and we just let them do it, Just like in world war two. People who try to take away our freedoms on the internet, should have their businesses and internet accounts taken away since they are being so anti-american. If you do not like our rights in this country….get the heck out! Everyone keeps thinking the “internet” is this great thing………… no, its not. It is destroying humanity. It is a devise to take away every freedom that you have. Soon you wont even be able to take a breath of fresh air without someone knowing if you took more than your allotment….OOPS that will be another tax. Internet was not made for every single person, no matter who you are, to have at your disposal every second of your life. Its a tool for you to use in your life…, it is not meant to be your consuming life every second of the day. We know people who have had their money stolen from their banks, people who have lost all their credit, taxes messed up, driving records screwed up, and on and on and on. Everything you now do, is watched by the government. You cant even go to the store and buy a candy bar, that is not recorded and then you get advertisements to buy more! Wait until the government starts saying that you are buying too much junk food and then tell you that you have to cut back or you will have to pay more taxes! Or you buy too much beer per month…you must be an alcoholic and wee need you st start AA classes or we will take away your drivers license. Then there is all the morons who think cell phones are a hobby. They are a tool you idiots! For you that have them glued to your head, they do make stuff to desolve the glue. YOU ARE NOT THAT IMPORTANT! You do not need some stupid devise so you can be in touch to talk, 24/7. PEOPLE…..you are not that important and no one cares what you are doing at any given time. GET A LIFE! By the way, texting is for morons who are not intelligent enough to actually hold a human to human conversation.

  • Rrudytoo February 5, 2016, 10:56 am

The only surprise here is that Facebook hasn’t banned this sooner. It’s a liberal entity that represents most everything America stands for.

I have never used Facebook and never will. It is not your friend.

    Semper Fi!

    • SNuss February 5, 2016, 11:16 am

You mean ” It’s a liberal entity that represents most everything that America stands against.”, right?.

  • Larry February 5, 2016, 10:54 am

It seems these social media sites have one thing in common. They are all run by leftists. As such, I never use them & suggest that all pro Americans do the same. Shun them & make it hurt, in the pocketbook.

  • Alan February 5, 2016, 10:24 am

Never used Facebook and have no intention to ever use it. I live in the Bay Area and this guy is just another liberal who seems to think he knows more than anyone else.

    • shrugger February 5, 2016, 11:37 am

Please don’t confuse Liberal with Progressive. They are not the same thing. Actual Liberals, though often misled by their feelz, tend to be decent patriotic folks. The correct pronunciation for Progressive should actually be ‘Western Civilization hating Regressive Leftist’.
      HUUGE difference.

      • Mark Wynn February 5, 2016, 11:20 pm

You have a point, shrugger. Might just go all the way and agree that political labels change with the times. Liberals 200 years ago would be the conservatives of today, and vice versa. I just ask, what would you do in a particular situation? If a person would constrain your 2nd Amendment rights, because citizens are weak and must be controlled by a paternal government, then that person is not a classic liberal but rather a socialist, or, as you explain, a Progressive

  • John S. February 5, 2016, 10:05 am

I actually used FB to buy firearms because their was local group where prices were not ridilicous and people were local. Someone mentioned someone robbing you, thats why you meet in public. Also, here in Texas, most people are smarter than trying to rob a gun owner who carrys a gun.

  • D February 5, 2016, 9:57 am

I was a big user of Facebook until I saw one of my pictures used by them inappropriately. I then realized that anything I post (pictures, words, etc.) will be used by them as they see fit in advertising they generate for their profit. What made me mine was some of my pictures were used to sell my friends stuff and even in political ads specially for gun control.

I rarely post anything on Facebook anymore. I also have no Instagram account.

  • Ryan Thompson February 5, 2016, 9:55 am

Just another reason to stay off and away from FB.

  • RAPTOR555 February 5, 2016, 9:50 am

So, Facebook decided on their own to become an illegal public regulatory commission without the approval of Congress just like their messiah, Obummer.

  • RetNavet February 5, 2016, 9:36 am

    • RAPTOR555 February 5, 2016, 9:45 am

      FYI, you spelled ‘libturd’ wrong.

    • SkyGunner February 5, 2016, 10:05 am

Roy. Good move. I deleted my account a long time ago. I’ve been told, by someone I have no reason to doubt, that Facebook is a site created by our illustrious F.B.I. As one of their best data bases for finding people that they’ve ever found. Like they say, people will talk about things on Facebook that the F.B.I. would need a court order to talk with a person about things, casually talked about online. Anything said on Facebook is in the public domain so everything is admissible in court. Facebook is the best investigative tool the F.B.I. has

      • Doyle Oden February 5, 2016, 11:16 am

I have a friend who is a retired secret service agent (had Hilary’s detail during Bill’s presidency, said it was the worst 17 months of his life) and he does private investigative work on the side now. He said he solves most of his cases and gets most of anything he needs to know about anyone from just checking facebook. He said liberals are so stupid they may be wanted in 12 states but eventually they will just explode if they don’t post something on facebook. LMAO

      • Chief February 5, 2016, 1:04 pm

That is the truth and we all should boycott these anti 2A people, places, business etc.Any person of entity should feel the collective wraith of all gun owners who stand against us.

Rumor is Facebook will soon be implementing “Pay Services” on their website, wherein they themselves would be involved in the transfer of firearms, through the use of the “Pay Service”. Wherein there are obviously legalities that arise since PayPal, E-Bay, Amazon, Craigslist, and several other large Auction Site/Pay Service sites don’t allow gun sales. Gun parts are fine on any of them, the simply don’t allow gun sales.

Zuckerberg is an asswipe. The idiot still dresses like he lives in his parents’ basement and probably uses Stridex pads. While Bill Gates happened to take advantage of everyone’s general ignorance of the software industry, Zuckerberg took advantage of the general population’s ignorance in the societal decline of community and family relationships. Today, we would understand that to be the result of secularization and globalization, both of which are worshipped by the globalists. It should be of no surprise, then, to learn that BOTH of these clowns have been to Bilderberg meetings.

The ego, unrestrained, is a dangerous weapon against humanity and BOTH of their morons have the spiritual discipline of a rat testicle.

  • motherfreedom February 5, 2016, 8:56 am

Guns america ask why would anyone want to buy or sell guns in fb. Here is why.

    1. Because we can as a free county (we are losing it though)
    2. Because of ridiculous transfer fees. Form.ffl dealers
    3. Stupid %3 premium on guns sales with credit cards
    4. Outrageous shipping cost and shipping insurance
    5. Because it’s convenient to do a f2f transaction with like minded individuals on your local area
    6. Because it’s none of.obama business to k m ow every weapon I own.
    7. Because if I have a permit to carry when do I need to do a background check that can take days for approval every time I want to buy a gun
    8. Availability isn’t what it should be as it’s getting harder to find a dealer with a particular gun you may be interested it
    9. Unfortunately most licences retail ffl dealer are way over priced in their firearms prices
    10. Because right to bear arms is not conditional and a freedon that souls by require me to jumy through every buracatic hurdle anti-freedom politicians propose or claim as an executive order or make back room deals with corporations by greasing their hands for other favord

    • Paul Helinski February 5, 2016, 9:39 am

Oh and so someone can show up at your door and force you to open your safe, then kill you of course. You are such a great thinker!

      • greg February 5, 2016, 11:43 am

Take a breath man, he’s just making a few valid points. Yes, there is a danger to giving your name and information about valuables out to the public, but it’s easily mitigated. You only discuss what you’re selling, show nothing else, and never meet at home or give that info. Then you’re in no more danger than the average Joe being cased by the average crook.
He wasn’t being hostile, he was making a good point.

    • chas February 5, 2016, 11:06 am

Wow, I knew Paul H. spent time insulting his own readers but I had never before noticed that he trolls other articles to attack people. Before, I thought it was funny. Now I see it’s rather sad.

      • Paul Helinski February 5, 2016, 11:37 am

Because you’d prefer that I don’t read the comments that come in on the website that I own? The fact that you found it funny says more about you than anything I’ve written. Aldous Huxley had it right, not Orwell. The ultimate evolution of a society impregnated with false prosperity isn’t merely to hide the correct and truthful paradigm. It is to obscure it with irrelevant nonsense until people think that irrelevant nonsense is everything.

        • Mark Wynn February 5, 2016, 11:30 pm

Interesting observations, Paul Helinski, didn’t know you’re so “deeeep.” Thanks. Suggest both Huxley and Orwell “had it right.” The current administration is the incarnation of New Think and doublespeak.

  • imnevergivingin February 5, 2016, 8:53 am

“Quite honestly, we don’t know why anyone would go to Facebook when you can easily buy, sell firearms on GunsAmerica! After all, we’re an unabashedly pro-gun destination that encourages everyone to responsibly exercise their Second Amendment rights.

So, forget Facebook! Buy, Sell Guns on GunsAmerica! Spread the word :)”
That’s nice and all but why go through the BS of buying a gun from an FFL when its not only cheaper but you don’t have to deal with the GVMNT BS when you buy in state from another gun permit holder who is selling one of his guns? No ffl cost, no waiting, no over charging due to the cost of the seller trying to make a living off the sale…

  • imnevergivingin February 5, 2016, 8:47 am

the whole “people illegally buying guns on facebook” is about as true as the “Gun show loop hole” is lol.. more nanny liberal types making up things to cover that which they do not understand and crying foul to the powers that be who are doing the exact same thing. Just like when they say “anyone can go to a gun show or go on the Internet and by a machine gun or anything else they want and go out and kill a bunch of innocent folks!” lol. it’s laughable at best. who, has, in the course of history, went on line or to a show, purchased a machine gun and went and killed a bunch of innocent folks? who dammit! who?

    • kimberpross February 5, 2016, 10:02 am

Totally agree. The Progressive Liberals can stand on at podium and tell half truths or out right lies about gun sales and the uninformed minions believe it and fall into line. That has been Obama’s Presidential run. Every time I hear of gun show or internet sales without a background check, I ask them who, what and where so I can buy. Of course they can’t. And the add insult this video is delivered by and Englishman. (I guess because he is supposed to sound more intelligent)

      • buck February 5, 2016, 10:31 am

  • vince February 5, 2016, 8:43 am

Kind of stupid. A bad guy isn’t going buy a gun in an open forum, like FB where it can be traced.
Than I could be wrong crooks do stupid things.

Besides as a good guy, I would not want to advertise that I have guns, so the bad guys could come and steal them, which is were most guns get on the streets come from.

    • Kimberpross February 5, 2016, 10:04 am

Besides, I am sure with the approval of Zuckerburg, the Government has a direct link into all our communications on Facebook. Start advertising you are selling and don’t be surprised if the next knock on the door is a jackboot…

  • igotguns February 5, 2016, 8:42 am

Victory for who? there are still thousands of site you can go to where you can buy or trade guns. Contrary to popular belief, Facebook is not the end-all when it comes to the internet. F***erburg thinks he is some sort of god when in reality he is a geek turned thief who got ultra lucky and made tons of money off a product he stole. And he has some set of nut on him trying to act all holier than thou now that he has a little money! This is in no way going to stop or hinder gun sales or gun trading on line or not. its just something that came about, was convenient for those who used the site to sell and buy guns and is now gone.. No biggie!

  • Johnny American February 5, 2016, 8:11 am

Another compelling reason to tell FB to take a hike. I got out some years ago and man was it work. FB is a disease and hard to shake but I finally did it. This is but the latest good reason for any constitutionally driven American to tell FB to f**k off!! The only thing they understand is the bottom line. They don’t give a shit about our country or it’s citizens. Definitely don’t give a shit about the constitution.

      • JimS February 5, 2016, 10:11 am

Never been on FB, never will. Using FB just takes another slice out of one’s privacy and time. I pity the fools that live their lives on FB instead of spending that time making friends and interacting with people face-to-face.

        • Andrew Callistini February 5, 2016, 11:07 am

Exactly Jim……..fb disgusts me. Our society has turned It Into a disease. I have never & will never “do” fb. How many ISIS recruits have been Influenced & acquired on that site?……how many young girls or women have been depredated by using that face-less site….It’s garbage?

  • Mark February 5, 2016, 7:56 am

The thing I find most ironic is that while Facebook was in the process of demonizes gun owners a 13 year old girl was murdered after being lured from her home. She was approached by a predator while chatting on Facebook’s site “Teen Dating and Flirting” where he convinced her that he wanted to meet her in the early morning.

She was a constant target for teasing at school because of her physical appearance (she was a liver transplant survivor along with other illnesses). She was desperately looking for acceptance and jumped at the opportunity to find a friend. He stabbed her to death and then he, along with his girlfriend, threw her body on a trash heap in rural North Carolina.

Nice work keeping the internet safe!

  • Mr. Sparkles February 5, 2016, 7:46 am

I think that this violates the 1st Amendment, oops I forgot, it fits the liberal agenda and bias of the news media so it is okay.

  • Yep February 5, 2016, 7:44 am

So u would say to hell with fb and rather see us buy from you? Who makes us do backgrounds etc per federal law? That’s a contradiction you you also saying that you wouldn’t like to see our rights infringed upon…. But…. Yet…. You wanna conform to the federal laws and say vforget somewhere where u can use your right to bear arms and purchase in private as a good Upstanding citizen and buy from us so it’s not private and we will turn ur application to the feds so they know u got a weapon…. Gtfoh.

  • John February 5, 2016, 7:37 am

I wonder how much arm twisting (threats) was done to get Facebook to go along with this? I have to think a few Federal agents probably showed up to have a word with Mark Zuckerberg.
I wouldn’t get pissed at Facebook until I know the whole story, and the media has a way of hiding the whole truth.

  • Glenn61 February 5, 2016, 7:08 am

All about nothing,,, first, hardly anyone sells guns on Facebook in the open, outdoor enthusiast can just simply private message each other still.
Also,There are loads of licensed dealers on the web and they all go through the Federal background check system, have for decades now, Facebook is practically irrelevant to illegal gun sales.
Pres. Obama is just putting on another phony show like the silly thin smoking clown does.,, It’s unfortunate for the country that Barack Obama will try to over emphasize every gun law, even making up statistics and straight out lye about gun ownership,,,but he has no regard for the nation’s immigration laws, actually ordering the Border Patrol to stand down and not bust illegals crossing the borders.,, We have a traitorous Islamic agent in the Oval Office,,,simple as that.

  • avlisk February 5, 2016, 7:00 am

I will believe that the gun-restricting groups are serious about safety and serious about reducing the victim-count when they turn their attention to those who promote less safety and more victims. We call these people school officials and parents who promote and implement so-called “gun-free zones”. Until I see some of these people prosecuted and imprisoned for their complicity, I will continue to think of the gun-grabbers as more interested in taking away my rights and freedoms, more interested in attacking me, more interested in making me just another of their victims, and not really interested in anything like keeping our children safe.

  • Eric Yoder February 5, 2016, 7:00 am

“We don’t know why anyone would go to Facebook when you can easily buy, sell firearms on GunAmerica.”
I’m happy to tell you why. Most of the gun groups on Facebook were location based, usually by state, sometimes even by a particular area of a state thus limiting members of the group to persons from that state or area thus cutting down on how much searching one must do to find what they want. In a state such as Maine, where I live, private sales and trades are technically not regulated. “Not regulated” doesn’t mean someone can “run a business” selling guns without a license or background checks. It simply means if I want to sell my personal handgun to my neighbor I can do so without going to an FFL. It is however, illegal to knowingly sell to a prohibited person and as we all know, federal law says if you’re in the “business” of selling guns you must have a license and do background checks.
Most of these FB gun groups were also very good about clearly posting laws/rules and no actual transactions, money or goods, was ever sent through FB. These groups were merely a means for people to connect. All actual transactions, the exchange of money or goods, had to take place in person. It’s also important to note that most “deals that were struck” were done privately through messages, not in the public postings. I am an FFL so in the grand scheme of things this doesn’t affect me, however, I did also use these groups. If nothing else these groups helped give me some insight to what people wanted, how mush they were willing to spend.
Did FB really stop anything? No. They simply pissed people off and forced them to find other ways to do what they’ve been legally doing. New buy/sell/trade websites have been popping up, buy/sell/trade publications such as our Uncle Henry’s are still in use and there are a growing number of buy/sell/trade apps for smart devices. So, bloomberg and moms for nonsense in everytown have succeeded in nothing (other than pissing people off). Frankly, I really hope someone is creating a list of bloombergs and “moms” so if the proverbial “shit hits the fan” ever happens in this country, we, the gun owners, will know who doesn’t need to be protected by the very thing they have tried to take from us.

    • joshooter February 5, 2016, 9:16 am

Here in Delaware, our democratic governor Markell, pushed through an end to private sales w/o a background check, except to immediate family members. I used to re-sell long guns via a classified ad in the local paper, but would never consider selling a pistol that way, even 10-20 yrs ago. I think this is something we as gun owners are going to have to concede. Frankly, I wouldn’t sell a gun today without going through an FFL dealer to get a background check. (of course in DE, it’s the law now)
what I am concerned about is this trend toward requiring a gun seller to be an FFL dealer. Private sales through Gunbroker, and I assume Guns America require the seller to ship to an FFL, correct? This has long been the policy for sales across State lines.
By the way, part of the De law was to require FFL’s to accommodate private sale background checks. As a result, Wal-Mart pulled their gun inventory, as they didn’t want to be obligated to handle a private transfer, which would entail the parties bringing the gun into the store to complete the paperwork.

    • R. Hart February 5, 2016, 10:53 am

As far as I am concerned all so called “Social Media” sites should be shut down! These types of site have been nothing but a detriment to our society and especially to our humanity! It has taken the real personnel relationship, in what use to be termed a “friend” as nothing but a way for people to create a fake person, which someone will like but in reality, if they ever met wouldn’t even consider them as a want to be friend! The word friend seems to now become an acquaintance, as those of us who can communicate still understand face to face! Social media has done nothing but turned people into objects that promote themselves like an ad on the tv in order for them to have these so called friends. Ever notice has the so called generation gap has increased and people simply can not communicate? We even call some millennials. You can blame that on social media and how words have changed. How about all the abbreviations people use in a text just how benign is it when someone ask “How r u? in a text instead of a genuine phone call and asking, or actually a knock on the door! We are losing our humanity because of a generation now being brought up with and entranced with these so called “social media” sites! We cant communicate because we talk past each other as the meaning of words don’t mean the same thing! Then we wonder why America has been headed down the tubes, especially with these sites promoting themselves so you can promote you! Selfish generation where friends are nothing but a convenience, when real friends are a inconvenience as that’s where humanity come in, going out of your way, taking real time, real give and take, that how people grow! We are becoming machine like and responding like machines where the input and output is controlled, not by human thought process learned over time by real social face to face interaction but by what others perceive us to be because of the person we created on a social media site! So the next time you want to believe you have 3000 friends on facebook, sorry you don’t, you have 2998 acquaintances and maybe 2 real friends whom you actually know, the others don’t know you from Adam!

    • Mahatma Muhjesbude February 5, 2016, 9:14 am

      Very good points, Jay!

Add to that the Fact that the NSA/CIA save a lot of legwork and time and resources using Facebook and Twitter and some other very ‘proprietary’ sites to specifically compile information, track, and create a registry to control land manipulate you.

And not to mention that these sites do far more damage in direct comparison to the illegal violations of your 1st/A by restricting your rights to advertise in a public venue! Especially since far more date rapes, set up thefts, burglaries, and even murders (latest with this poor young teenage girl murdered by her Facebook on line boyfriend) compared to how many crimes with guns bought between people on Facebook, huh, whaaa, duh? Bloomberg..? Publicize THAT fucking comparison in actual statistics, You Fascist Nazi diabolical socialist engineer?!

As a holy prophet, I will put forth the prophesy that social media will determine its own demise at a tipping point when hackers attain the ability to integrate algorithms within AI technology and take over everything everybody does on social media. Then, of course, when the Totalitarians and their left arm of the G notices how beneficial to their agenda this would be, They will then do their own hack control, (as they did/do already with Bitcoin as a feasibility test for their parallel control agenda of a ‘cashless commerce’ society).

Then nobody will really ‘know’ who they are communicating within the cyber ‘matrix’ of inequity. Most of your ‘best ‘Friends’ could easily be just a microprocessor with a human name. But you won’t know that. You will ‘like’ them better than real people because they will be infinitely smarter than you and will never ‘hurt’ you. You will love and trust them. Somehow you will never be able to ‘live’ with yourself if you try to ‘un-friend’ them.

The nascent technology now exists to fabricate and operate those individual human replicating robots like in the movie “I, Robot’. Except, of course, on a less ‘Hollywooded’ enhancement level. This will change everything as far as fundamental ‘humanism’ goes.

By 2020 (sounds like long ‘star dates’ away but it’s only 4 short years!) Robots will begin stealing jobs from people at an alarming rate. And the entire concept of human value production will change. The horror movies of ‘futureworld’ are here NOW.

This inevitable worse case techno-tyrannical scenario will take us all out if the Obama regime is perpetuated in another Democratic Totalitarian win. There will be nowhere to hide, nothing to say or do that they won’t know about, and all is ‘lost’ in cyberspace if your 4th and 2nd Amendments are discarded. And your own personal driverless ‘smart cars’ will lock you in and take over and drive you to the ‘detention anti-gun centers’ to turn you in when they ‘administratively’ determine that you are breaking some obscure law and now cannot own a firearm anymore because in 2017 we were too fucking lazy to get our asshole reps to repeal the 1968 Gun Control Act and revise the badly broken criminal justice system? (don’t say it can’t be done because they easily passed a bill to repeal Obama care, didn’t they? Which was nowhere as important as “Shall NOT be Infringed” No qualifications, Caveats, or Exceptions”.

How many times can i keep saying this? As many times as it takes until it happens. WE, the PEOPLE better get very seriously proactive in this coming critical tipping point election. Get to those caucuses and try to ‘enlighten’ anybody you talk to every chance you get and volunteer to help in the campaigns to bring out the vote for one of these outsider ‘republican’ candidates. Democrats should switch over also. Whatever Bernie or Hillary or anyone this regime promotes laughs at you all because there absolutely is NO WAY they will ever be able to ‘grant’ you all those delusional freebie gifts. Period. But they will definitely eliminate more of your freedoms as they suck you dry for whatever little you have left, leaving you ‘hanging’ on their specious promises and waiting stupidly for something that will never happen.

A lot of the poor ‘sheeple’ just don’t have a clue as to how bad it is, and how very ugly it still will get…

  • Mike Ellison February 5, 2016, 6:55 am

Like all things that legislate everything, restricting guns, don’t save lives. Common sense will. Removing all guns off the face of this earth will not save lives. As you have witnessed on TV, the middle East and America for that part, has shown you repeatedly, what car bombs can do, what road side mines, and airplanes, can do to destroy human life.
Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, like all Mothers & Fathers in America, would like guns sense in America. However it is Mothers, & Fathers in America raising brain dead, children, that go out and create these heinous and bizarre acts.
To Shannon Watts, I will not back you on this issue, however I would back you if you would drive legislation to arm America, of the Freedom We Stand For. Restricting, or making it harder for The Law Abiding Citizen are all you are doing. You are not focusing on the one percent that create this truly heinous crimes of humanity. Focus on the cause and I will support you.

The anti-gun arguments are just too easy to turn around. “…which will prevent dangerous people from getting guns and save American lives.” Let’s reword this wrongheaded statement to support the people who wish to enforce their Second Amendment right to arms. “…which will enable law-abiding citizens to acquire guns to defend American lives.”

Let’s Face it, the Democrats and RINOs use befuddled groups like “Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America”, to obscure their real motive, namely to effectively disarm the people. Using justification such as “Crime fighting efforts” is really a convenient way to disguise tyranny efforts.

I’ll say it right now, if the anti-gun authoritarians are successful in making the Second Amendment irrelevant, attacking the other rights in the Bill of Rights will be a piece of cake.

It’s another one of those “makes us feel better” things that doesn’t really affect legitimate gun owners. I would, however, like to see them make a small change — allow permit owners to buy and sell. The intent is to prevent illegal sales, and permit holders have undergone background checks. I guess they are going to require dealers to send in a copy of their FFL? A copy of my CCP wouldn’t be an issue for me, but how are they going to police this? I can only see where they can police sellers, not buyers. I can advertise and anyone can send me a PM or make a phone call and I can sell. I guess the limitation to licensed dealers is because a dealer isn’t likely to arrange a sell where his license could be compromised.

    • Mahatma Muhjesbude February 5, 2016, 9:40 am

Frank, you’re a good man, but “…not having an issue with giving away a copy of your carry permit’ is how they incrementally brainwash everybody to ‘agree’ with Totalitarian Gun Registratin/Confiscation lists… in the form of simple universal background checks for all which can’t hurt and might even help the rabid dog obsessive compulsion for the fictional notion of ‘Public Safety’.

You remember? The same psychological fraud perpetrated on the German people which allowed their butt bud Adolph to…well, you know the rest of the story.

NO fucking compromise, Frank, no conciliatory gestures of defeat. There shouldn’t be any ‘Permission to carry concealed, either? Why do we cave to that?

If you say “…well we don’ want just ‘anybody’ to be able to carry concealed (or open for that matter). You can’t have nuts walking around with guns? It’s, it’s, well, it’s for… Puh Puh puh, Public Safety?!” Really Frank? Is that why you have no issue/problems with the G or a CIA shill like FB knowing what you do with what should absolutely be only your private business?

If you do, Then you are part of the problem, not the solution to this grave Totalitarian evil.

FB is and always has been a Socialistic Leftist supporter mechanism of the far left liberal and Democrats, the support Bloomberg and other idiots like him. FB has gotten worse each year and has forced it’s own political agenda in our faces and made people bend to their guidelines. What’s next Sharia Law??? Thanks to the POS in the Oval office for the past 8 years this country has been damaged more than the last Wars of all of it history. And morons like FB just forward more of his lowlife agenda.

  • AL Soto February 5, 2016, 6:14 am

    Face what?

  • Dalton February 5, 2016, 6:14 am

I really wouldn’t count it as a victory, I doubt many people even knew they could use facebook to buy guns

  • Richard Pickett February 5, 2016, 6:14 am

they are not the government, they can be sued for infringment of my rights, I would think, they banned my group off of facebook

  • John Tate February 5, 2016, 5:59 am

First, both Facebook and Fuckerberg and kiss my heterosexual, conservative, WHITE, Patriotic, Veteran, God-Fearing ass (I know that doesn’t sound very Christian, oh well. Never said I was perfect, get over it). Second, Neither Zuckerberg nor Facebook can “ban” me or anyone else from selling or buying a firearm. Whether on Facebook or not, no matter what they do.
Who do these idiots think they are? They have no legal or Constitutional authority over the Second Amendment. Does ANYONE honestly believe that Facebook “banning” the sale or purchase of firearms, will in the slightest bit, affect ANY guns sales? The only thing this crap will do is INCREASE sales. One from the initial panic and two from people buying and selling just to prove they CAN do it
Just curious though. What is “Facebook banning gun sales” supposed to accomplish?

  • Dave February 5, 2016, 5:58 am

I personally dont understand social media anyway. But for some reason, I think that will be the least of gun owners worries in the near future. Especially if slick Willy’s lover get elected. =)

    • Scott in Atlanta February 5, 2016, 4:59 pm

Slick Willie’s lover? I didn’t know he and Bernie had a thing going.

  • steven deatley February 5, 2016, 5:46 am

i never would use facebook to buy a firearm it’s way to risky.there was a man selling a 1911 .45 auto and he met a buyer in our local sams parking lot the seller had the .45 and when the buyer showed up with the cash he robbed the buyer of 500 bucks.news said he got away and police say he fit a discription of a man who had been reported for this before in the southren WVa. area.so beware if you go out to meet someone to buy a gun off the social media.

  • Mark Horton February 5, 2016, 5:34 am

Where do I go to buy the guns you talk about? All I see is multi-item auctions. Suppose I just want a single handgun? And suppose I don’t want to pay the 17% buyer markup on just one handgun? I don’t see where I can do that.
    Thanks, -mh

    • Sam Meyer February 5, 2016, 11:18 am

uhhh – lets see, GunBroker, GunsAmerica, etc…..

  • David February 5, 2016, 5:05 am

If the gun owner portion of the 1.6 billion monthly visitors stopped using Instagram and Facebook, their stock would plummet. I will stick with GunsAmerica

  • Barry Kittay February 5, 2016, 4:49 am

I don`t mind buying guns on Guns America but Facebook banned a apage I was a member of that also had trades. I don`t think gunsamerica does that. I boiught and sold guns on our page, everybody I dealt with followed Illinois law to the letter. Facebook vilified more than 10,000 law abiding gun owners, what a disgrace!!

  • Steve Hughes February 5, 2016, 4:22 am

So, I’m old and ignorant, but I CAN live without Face Book. Is there a good alternative? An average alternative?

  • Steven February 5, 2016, 4:12 am

Facebook should be banned, too many people live their lives on it.

  • Chris Baker February 5, 2016, 3:54 am

I don’t understand their position. They are a business after all and they’ve just alienated a portion of their customers. But it’s their right to run their business the way they want to, after all, they should have the same liberties we claim for ourselves.

  • Kevin February 5, 2016, 3:08 am

How about we like to go to Facebook to buy and sell guns because some of us live in Canada where it is perfectly acceptable to sell a gun person to person so long as the buyer has a firearms license…..

Or how about the fact that Facebook has also banned a good number of “gun discussion” groups with no sales occurring on them at all…..

    • Mahatma Muhjesbude February 5, 2016, 9:45 am

Kev…are you saying that there are no legal ‘private’ transfers in Canada? How can that be ‘perfectly acceptable’?

    • Mikial February 5, 2016, 8:08 pm

FB is a Liberal, anti-Constitution digital rag.

But . . about your selling guns comment . . so the only way people in Canada can sell a gun or even give it to someone is if they have a firearms license? And you think this is okay? Talk about Big Brother.
