Of the several Hi-Point pistols I’ve used over the years, and the one that I own, I have never experienced any type of malfunction, whether feed, fire, or extract.
Hi-Point firearms may not be attractive but they are not turds, by any means.
How can it be a “disappointer”? It feeds, fires, and extracts reliably. It is durable. The bullets fired hit the target and depending on the quality of the ammunition used, it can be pretty accurate.
Hi-Points can be considered “garbage mouths” as they will pretty much digest any ammo you feed them, when so many semiautos are finicky eaters.
I’m guessing that you’re one of those who thinks that unless a firearm costs at least $600 and is made by Glock, Walther, Smith & Wesson, or some other so-called “name” manufacturer that it is a worthless piece of junk.

I own four Hi-Point firearms and they are all very good weapons , if you don’t like it, too f in bad. I also have around 40 other firearms , with names like S&w, Walther, CZ, FN and the list goes on, but the fact is any weapon made someone likes or dislikes , but people should not go around bashing one brand because any weapon is better than no weapon at all , no matter the cost !!! Another thing , all of us who own weapons like these should stick together like our on little family, because one day soon , we may need each others help !!! God Bless America.

I have never found anything about HighPoint Firearms to be appealing, although this one looks a bit better than their other offerings. I don’t consider myself to be a snob, but would be personally embarrassed if my firearm was a HighPoint.
My suggestion: HST-9 (hot steaming turd).
Sorry, but that is my opinion.

And like a colon, most everyone has one. The HP 9mm C9 cycles just fine with UMC 115gr. FMJ. What else do you need besides range time?

The Comforter. Or AT9 (About Time 9)

  • SkorpionFan June 6, 2019, 1:51 pm

Note that Hi-Point appears to be looking more for a model number (something like “CP9”) rather than a “name” (like “Puuko Goblinstabber” or “Notaglok” or “Chunkadunk” or “TultaMunille” [Finnish battle cry, roughly “Fire at their balls!] ).

    I’m going with “TM9 TultaMunille”
in accordance with Maxim 16 “Your name is in the mouth of others: be sure it has teeth” from Schlock Mercenary’s “The Seventy Maxims of Maximally Effective Mercenaries.”

After you enter your proposed name on the Hi-Point website, your are given the feedback:
    NAME THE NINE
The new 9mm handgun does not have a model number! We want your help! Submit your model number name idea. If we like it, your suggestion could advance to the next round. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Examples of current model numbers: CF380, C9, JCP40, JHP45
