Caught on Camera: Veteran bests burglar with fists

A would-be burglar was bested by a veteran Saturday night, following a physical altercation initiated by the suspect in Licton Springs, Seattle.

Andrew Myers, the resident and veteran, confronted the suspect after he saw the man prowling around his yard.

“I said ‘what’s up?’ And he said ‘I live here,’ and I said ‘definitely do not live here,’ and he said ‘who are you?’ And I said ‘I definitely do live here buddy,’” Myers told KIRO 7.

The man took a swing at Myers. That turned out to be a mistake. Myers knocked the suspect to the ground and began pummeling him into submission until the police arrived.

“I don’t think that’s even from him,” explained Myers, showing off his scraped-up hands to KIRO 7. “I actually think I missed and hit the sidewalk once, but casualties of war I guess.”

Apparently, this wasn’t the first time the man had attempted to burglarize the home. In fact, he had broke into their basement on Tuesday and spent the night there. They found the suspect’s clothes and cigarette butts he left behind, alerting them about the intruder.

One can assume that after the altercation and his rendezvous with the justice system, the burglar won’t be coming back any time soon.
