The USS John S. McCain’s commanding officer, Cmdr. Cameron Yaste, became a subject of online ridicule after a photograph showed him holding an rifle with its scope mounted backward.

“He was carrying a 1875 lever action British rifle,” Kennedy noted. This event led him to hang the rifle in his office, not as a war trophy, but as a reminder of the profound consequences of war.

“You have to [shoot] immediately because the wind changes constantly,” he said.

“The inventory of parts reads like a who’s who of the 1911 aftermarket business. In fact, the list is so diverse that it appears as if the Marines flipped through Brownells’ catalog and took one of everything,” according to an article about a new Marine Corps purchase of M1911 upgrade parts that American Handgunner published in 2002.

The marines trio was subjected to a vicious attack, with Hunter Antonino, one of the Marines involved, describing the assailants as “stomping on” and beating them.

The military has expressed concerns for the future of recruitment following a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report stating the US is currently facing an epidemic of childhood obesity.  

Shooting those guns were veterans from the Vietnam War, Gulf War, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and military still serving in uniform.

A friend of mine was one of a group of five military officers who first developed the concept of arming an unmanned surveillance drone. Then these guys decided to hang a couple of missiles under the wings, and the whole earth moved just a little bit.
