I had the opportunity to spend a little bit of time shooting several of the Republic Forge 1911s during the media day at SHOT Show 2016. Boy, those babies can shoot! These 1911s are made in Texas, and the options available for customization are staggering.

At SHOT Show 2016 I had the opportunity to pick up and hold the new 490 Amicus. To say I was impressed, well, that’s an understatement.

Inland Manufacturing has added some new guns to their line up at SHOT Show 2016. The Advisor is a pistol version of the M1 Carbine and is built on a paratrooper style stock. Inland is also making a reproduction of the M37 Trench Gun that is build on an Ithaca receiver.

Stopping by the Hornady booth, I was immediately taken aback by all of the exciting new products for 2016. Some of them were so simple, yet cleverly designed, I wondered, why did I not think of that or that?

LUX180, a new company launching at SHOT Show 2016, has developed a new way to light up the night. Designated model 34-36 this light is designed to remove all of the bulk associated with the traditional rifle mounted light while still offering powerful illumination at the push of a pad.

The Daka series of pouches is creating a lot buzz around the SHOT Show floor. Offered in three sizes (small, medium and large) the pouches are made of reinforced polymer fabric with permanent, impenetrable seals. There is no shortage of AR-15 products at SHOT Show 2016. Walking down the aisles there are so many ARs they all start to look the same. As I entered the Rock River Arms booth I half-expected to see new versions of last year’s AR-15s and the crow I ate tasted great.
