Brutal Assassination Caught on Camera Goes Viral

In a recent video, Colion Noir examined the tragic shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, offering a direct critique of self-defense and gun control laws.

Noir’s analysis, paired with his sharp commentary, raises questions about how the attack might have unfolded differently if Thompson had been armed.

The December 4th shooting took place in Midtown Manhattan near Rockefeller Plaza. Surveillance footage obtained by NBC News shows Thompson walking when the gunman ambushes him from behind, firing multiple shots before fleeing the scene on an electric bike.

The NYPD has labeled the attack a targeted hit, with a manhunt underway for the suspect.

Noir focused on a key detail from the video: the shooter’s gun malfunctioned multiple times.

“Anyone who’s seen the video can see that the shooter’s gun jammed like four or five times after he strikes Thompson the first time,” Noir explained.

Noir argued that if Thompson had been armed, the repeated malfunctions might have given him an opportunity to respond.

“That’s a lot of time in a life-or-death situation. If Thompson had been armed, he could have drawn his own gun, returned fire, and likely stopped the threat.”

Another point Noir highlighted was the use of a suppressor, which is illegal in New York.

“Here’s something else that stands out—this happened in New York, where suppressors are illegal, yet somehow this guy managed to get his hands on one. I’m not saying that to call for more laws; I’m saying it to point out how useless these existing laws are.”

Noir emphasized that laws failed to prevent the shooter from obtaining the suppressor and carrying out the attack.

The surveillance footage also revealed that the shooter repeatedly racked the slide between shots, likely due to a compatibility issue between the suppressor and the firearm.

“What’s wild is that this guy didn’t even know his suppressor and ammo wouldn’t work with his gun. He turned it into what was basically a one-shot bolt-action handgun. If he had actually tested this setup beforehand, he would have known it wasn’t going to run,” he added.

Noir tied the incident back to a broader critique of gun control, questioning the lack of protection for Thompson.

“How is this even possible in a city with some of the strictest gun laws in the country and the most police officers walking the streets? Where was the protection for this guy? This man was the CEO of a massive corporation,” he said, “yet he had no armed security with him. How does that make sense?”

Noir predicted that the attack would be used to push for stricter gun laws.

“New York is going to use this incident to push for even more restrictions on suppressors. They’ll claim suppressors are too dangerous and use this as proof we need to crack down harder. But let’s not forget, no law stopped this from happening,” he said.

For Noir, the incident underscores the importance of the Second Amendment.

“Gun control doesn’t work. Laws don’t stop criminals, and the government isn’t going to be there to protect you when it counts. If Brian Thompson had been armed, this could have probably ended differently,” he said. “That’s what the Second Amendment is about—protecting yourself when no one else can or will.”

I hope all of you sleuth foots on here talking about it was a b&t will finally learn to get all the FACTS before talking. Good grief. It was a 3d printed 9mm and suppressor. It’s no wonder people don’t take us serious…look at the misinformation we believe without hesitation. If we don’t stand for verifiable proof and truth what will become of us? Our party (republican) thinks we’re gullible as much the dems think their base is. And I see why.

  • James December 9, 2024, 12:05 pm

I’m not sure that the gun jammed. It looks like the shooter was using a B&T VP9 which traces it’s roots to the World War II-era Welrod pistol which was designed for “wet work” and served members of the O.S.S. well. It is magazine fed but must be manually reloaded after each shot, which explains the media confusion and the reporting that the gun jammed several times. Very quiet in operation, very easy to conceal and very expensive to purchase. List prices starting at $2300.00 if you can find one. I hear tell that these are used in slaughter houses because they are reliable, quiet and effective. The gun was probably stolen because of the massive amounts of paperwork needed to fill out to purchase one legally because of the silencer.

My guess is the shooter had a family member that got shafted by United Healthcare and died, so he decided to go all Biblical on the person he felt most responsible.

Do I agree with the shooter doing that? No, but after watching both of my parents go through and die from long-term illnesses and the way they were treated by the Industrial Medical Complex including lose of dignity, loss of savings, selling everything they owned and had worked their lives for, knowing that they probably weren’t going to recover,

    I UNDERSTAND.

Wow! There is so much misinformation in these comments it’s mind boggling. The B&T Station Six 9 (also comes in .45) is readily available today online at Gunbroker.com. There are a dozen or more right now ranging from $1,500 to $2,000. There are several collector CIA type cased sets at significantly more $. It doesn’t appear that a tax stamp is required nor the involvement of the ATF, only an FFL. The FFL may be required to go through the Class 3 NFA, it doesn’t say. Typically on Gunbroker.com when buying a Class 3 NFA firearm ity normally states it. In looking at the video and stills taken from the video I tend to agree that it is a B&T Station Six or a variant thereof because of the one shot manual reloading and ejection process. There’s really no other explanation, and if he had to do it twice or more times in order to load a round it’s because in the adrenaline rush of committing this act he forgot to flip the gun in order for the spent cartridge to fall out. I also agree with the comments that if the police do not have the physical weapon in their possession it’s going to be near impossible to trace the owner or hitman without it as there are so many of them out there. They could visit every owner by accumulating all the records of B&T or variant purchases across the country asking each of them to produce their firearm, but then they would need to fire each one in order to get a shell casing for forensics. This would take months, if not years to accomplish. Their best bet in my opinion is catching the gunman by someone identifying him and turning him in. They don’t have a clue so far as to who he is which is why they are asking the public and publishing his photo every day.

  • Common sense conservative December 9, 2024, 6:48 am

No evidence it was a b&t. And the killer left she’ll casings intentionally with one word messages.
Owning a gun wouldn’t have saved the ceo as he was shot in the back…anyone by him who would have been licensed in NYC to carry would have still had to get to cover 1st and foremost and leave and call police unless they were being shot at or a mass shooter scenario…Colin even went over this before. I hope they catch the guy but we gotta get out of this gun toting hero citizens in wait nonsense…the majority of us with cc guns aren’t dedicated to training to do stop someone AND prevent bystander injury…
Don’t use this catastrophe as a culture promotion propaganda. It only makes us all look like zealots

  • Chris Baker December 7, 2024, 1:40 pm

Seriously I am against idiots shooting executives for whatever reason. I hope they catch the perpetrator and throw the book at him/her, whatever. However, being stuck with United Healthcare I can easily see where someone might be angry enough and stupid enough to think that killing the CEO would make things better.

  • Rob Jones December 7, 2024, 8:37 am

It was a one shot, bolt action type weapon, not a jam or ammo compatibility issue. He used a B&T VP9 which is designed to be manually operated for maximum noise suppression. Cost about $5k when you can find one.

  • Patrick December 6, 2024, 4:03 pm

The hitman used the wrong weapon. I read about the Brugger & Thomet Station 9, which allows you to slide back the bolt and retrieve the shell casing. According to the news, the hitman left three shell casings, which is sloppy. Hopefully, the hitman was wearing gloves. I mean the guy went to Starbucks before the hit, and ordered something to drink and eat.

I would have used a Glock 19 with a Dead Air Wolfman (only 2/3 of the suppressor in the short configuration). That way, the gun would have cycled fast. If you want to leave shell casings with a message, throw casings that weren’t used in the weapon. You can use a casing catcher so you don’t have to worry about brass on the street.

This guy made too many mistakes. And it took too long. 124 gr 9mm +P JHP alternated with 124 gr ball ammo in the 15 round magazine would have been a good choice. Penetration plus expansion.

I still can’t believe this guy took his mask off in Starbucks with all the cameras and surveillance systems in NYC.

  • Ronald Racicot December 6, 2024, 2:28 pm

First of all if it was a professional hit they do not make mistakes like that. Second of all if the lady that was to the gunman’s right was armed she could have stopped the incident from happening also. Just an observation on the footage. But what is correct is stricter gun laws don’t protect anybody they just give the average American a harder time to acquire Firearms they need for protection.

    • Patrick December 6, 2024, 4:06 pm

New York guns laws and States like Washington and Connecticut have stupid gun laws. I found out yesterday that the citizens of CT are not allowed to have threaded barrels because that makes the gun an “assault weapon” The stupidity of these politicians is ridiculous.

  • Slim December 6, 2024, 2:18 pm

I read another post that said it was a bolt action Weldon silenced pistol invented during WW2 by British intelligence for covert operations. It’s cycled by knurled knob on bolt and was made in 32acp and later 9mm Luger. So it didn’t jam that’s just how it’s operated.

    • R December 6, 2024, 3:21 pm

If you watch the video you will see that he racked the cocking mechanism 2 or three times before the first and 2nd shot. This suggests a malfunction, unlike what would be expected with a bolt action pistol.

  • Michael E. Powell December 6, 2024, 2:06 pm

Gun control, in ANY form, fashion, or format, just does NOT work! Criminals who want to use guns will find a way to get them. And if not a gun, then a knife, or a club, or, well… figure it out. You can’t legislate blatant insanity!

    • Patrick December 6, 2024, 4:09 pm

Gun control laws don’t work in blue states, because if you really wanted to get around the laws, it’s America. You drive to a red state and buy what you need, and then drive back to NY. Gun laws are unconstitutional and only stop law abiding citizens from having the protection they need to take care of themselves. The police will not save you.

    • Chris Baker December 7, 2024, 1:41 pm

Proper gun control is hitting what you aim at.

  • Al00 December 6, 2024, 1:10 pm

As for the victim, is it illegal to own or have body armor in NY?

    • Griffy December 9, 2024, 8:14 pm

Body armor illegal to purchase in NY.

  • Ed Leblanc December 6, 2024, 12:20 pm

The gun was a “B&T Station Six-9.” It has that long barrel, essentially a built-in suppressor.
Who has this???? It’s a rare $2.2K firearm. Really????
    https://www.capitolarmory.com/bt-station-six-9mm-suppressed-pistol-bt410111.html
Written on shell casing recovered at the scene were the words “deny, defend, depose.” A book about insurance companies not paying claims was titled “Delay, Deny, Defend.”
Earlier this year, activists accused United HealthCare and Thompson of greed at a protest in Minnesota.
They recovered a water bottle and snack wrappers the killer bought at a Starbucks near the murder scene, and hope to identify him using DNA.
He was an absolute amateur. It could have been a programmed no-body weirdo that was mentally manipulated by the Deep State or Illuminati.

  • Bill December 6, 2024, 12:05 pm

Further information has surfaced that the weapon used may have been a B&T Station Six which is integrally supressed and requires manual cycling on every shot.

  • Hank714 December 6, 2024, 11:32 am

Many moons ago, when I was in the military, those SOGs, snake eaters and SEALs had a gun that they call a “hush puppy”. They were very quiet, and had to be cycled by hand after each shot. I don’t reckon this guy had a gun that jammed multiple times, I think he was shooting something similar, very quiet, and manually cycled to further reduce noise.

  • Chainsaw December 6, 2024, 11:10 am

I don’t think the gun was malfunctioning. I think there wasn’t enough back pressure to operate the slide. Probably a homemade suppressor.

  • ks December 6, 2024, 10:49 am

Someone had it in for the guy and hired outside the state for the hit. Looks like.

  • Roy the Polish Guy December 6, 2024, 10:08 am

Gun jammed? Haaaaa yeah right. Thats a Brugger & Thomet Station 9 single action, factory suppressed pistol, it has a rear twist action to cycle round in then twist eject spent cartridge. 9mm or .45 acp. The hitter knew his weapon well, his use of the pistol showed he knows his B&T spc9 well. It never “jammed”.

    • J December 6, 2024, 11:13 am

No it isn’t. It’s an off the shelf Glock or some other inexpensive, easy to acquire off the shelf handgun with a threaded barrel that the shooter fitted with a very likely homemade suppressor lacking a booster.

Think it through. This wasn’t some Hollywood style hit by a high dollar (mythical) assassin.

      • Charles T Sblibb December 8, 2024, 4:51 pm

Got it all figured out, eh?

        • Griffy December 9, 2024, 8:15 pm

          He was correct!

  • Blkhand December 6, 2024, 10:07 am

So the article is correct with NY going to use this to introduce new gun laws so the people who actually follow the gun laws get screwed. As a life long NYer, it seems every month the left come out and ban something else. This shooter as someone already pointed out was probably from another state-most likely. And believe it or not-silencers are available in NY to LE! Same as assault weapons and over 10rd mags. You cannot even buy a semiautomatic rifle here in NY without a pistol permit. It’s beyond ridiculous. Cannot wait to get out of this state!!!!

  • Lynn B December 6, 2024, 10:04 am

He was using a WW2 era bolt action pistol which requires manual racking. The gun didn’t jam.

    • J December 6, 2024, 11:15 am

No he wasn’t, don’t be stupid. He used a Glock or some other modern, mass produced semiautomatic handgun with a threaded barrel and likely a homemade suppressor lacking a recoil booster.

Use an ounce of brain power. Don’t be stupid.

      • Lynn B December 6, 2024, 2:57 pm

And yet the police reported it and have traced the purchase to a sale in North Carolina.

        • Societal Realist December 8, 2024, 12:41 pm

The police would have to have the actual weapon with serial #, or a positive ID of the shooter & backtraced his movements in order to trace the sale to NC. I have not kept up with the news for a couple days, so I don’t know the most current status, but as of 12/6 neither was the weapon recovered, nor was the shooter identified. Maybe that changed over the weekend….

      • Patrick December 6, 2024, 4:13 pm

Actually, the hit man may have used the Brugger & Thomet Station 9. Look it up. A Glock 19 will cycle with the right suppressor. I believe it’s the Brugger & Thomet Station 9.

  • Beckaroo December 6, 2024, 9:35 am

Last I checked that gun, suppressor and murder were illegal in NY, how did this happen?? It’s almost like bad guys don’t obey laws, regardless of how many you pass….

    • ks December 6, 2024, 10:50 am

      Ya think

  • Daniel Tosh December 6, 2024, 9:22 am

OK let’s start with they have his face and you mean to tell me no one could do anything in finance guy
Secondly if he wrecked his fucking slide so many times because he was having malfunctions did he stop and pick up his brass afterwards I didn’t watch the video
You mean to tell me he was that smart that he wiped his brass clean of any fingerprints

Here we go again we were this close to getting to hearing protection act probably and now we’re not going to because of some douche bag just like in Las Vegas which wait wait a minute are governments capable of murdering their own people or are they or did they and taxation is theft

  • Bob W December 6, 2024, 9:03 am

You have to be kidding. What bullshit! I can’t believe how stupid this article is. If he had his own gun it would not have made a difference since he was shot in the back and went down after the first shot. And the suppressor like 99% of the illegal hand guns in NYC were bought in red states where you can buy that shit in a candy store and sold to the bad guys for twice the price. Stop blaming New York for all the shit that comes from the lawless shithole red states.

    • Gutsy63 December 6, 2024, 9:18 am

If the CEO would have been armed, he could possibly have returned fire when the shooter’s gun jammed several times. A slight chance is still better than none at all.
As for the firearm with a suppressor, the suppressors are very expensive and you need a tax stamp to purchase one which is an additional $200, send in photo and fingerprints. That is not “some candy store” purchase. Pretty sure this criminal is in a blue state! Laws do not stop criminals from doing bad things! Law makers know this, that is why they have to make a penalty for breaking the law! This guy is is illegally carrying, probably illegally owned firearm, with an illegal suppressor, and using it to commit murder. All of which are illegal in New York. How many more laws do you want to make that he would have broken anyways?

    • Beckaroo December 6, 2024, 9:32 am

Your claims are complete BS, stop watching the liberal news and educate yourself. It’s just embarrassing for you. None of your claims are true with the exception of being right about the man being shot in the back. The video isn’t clear enough to show whether he could have defended himself if armed so it’s impossible to say whether being armed himself would have helped or not. It’s the epitome of willful ignorance to spout of the claims about where criminally used guns from as well as how “easy” it is to purchase guns and suppressors. Ten minutes of actual research would show you that you’re wrong about everything but then liberals have never let facts get in the way of their agenda.

    • Kane December 6, 2024, 11:02 am

OK, I thought Bob W claimed to be a “conservative” who sat out the recent election because BW could NOT support Trump. Have I mixed BW up with someone else who blamed Mitch McConnell for following a precedent in USSC nominations and a possible connection to Dems calling for expanding the SC? Clarify if you can.

Regardless, now he is blaming all red states because criminals run guns into New York. Wonder what BW thinks of criminals like Barry Soetoro running guns into Mexico? Wonder what BW thought of criminals like Hillary gun running into Syria and Libya through Benghazi? Wonder what BW thinks of criminals like the fake POTUS (genuine POS) flooding the globe with over $7 billion in military arms because he was in such a hurry to plunge the US in a proxy war with Russia? Go back and explain your partisan views better Bob so you might start to make a little more sense.

    • Patrick December 6, 2024, 4:19 pm

We don’t have assassination attempts in Red States, because we can buy any weapon we want at a Candy Store. My Candy Store is Extreme Guns & Ammo in Richmond, Texas. Look it up, Snowflake. In Red States, lots of gun owners carry every day, and some of us have an extra rifle in our truck or trunk for back up firepower. So I wouldn’t call states like Texas – “lawless shithole red states”. In New York City, you have people looting high end department stores in broad day light. Imagine that. New York City is the biggest shithole in the USA. Nothing but roaches stacked on top of each other.

    • Chris Baker December 7, 2024, 1:58 pm

You sound like a completely fooled liberal. Check the statistics and you’ll find that the states with the most gun crime, in fact, flat out the most crime per person. You’ll also find that the states with the least crime of any kind are the states with the fewest gun laws and constitutional carry. Where this CEO was and when he was there, he should have had sense enough to have a couple of bodyguards.

  • LJ December 6, 2024, 8:25 am

There are a lot of questions I have about this, and no doubt it will all be investigated the facts will come out – in due time. Let’s talk about the elephant in the room.

According to the talking heads on TV; he was paid 10 million dollars per year. Him and his wife lived in separate homes. Whomever shot him knew his schedule and went there specifically to kill him. Who knew his itinerary? Obviously the killer wasn’t a pro, that based solely on the mistakes he made concealing his identity.

Did he have a large insurance policy on himself? Who are the beneficiaries?

  • Dario M Delconte December 6, 2024, 8:13 am

Exactly correct, gun laws allowed the killer to have the means to kill, because the legal victim had to follow all the laws already on the books in NY. And therfore had no way to fight back legally. The Supreme Court already ruled that the Right of the second amendment is correct in all having the right to protect oneself. Council members still ignoring the Supreme courts rule must be arrested and given long prison sentences.

  • Mike Samples December 6, 2024, 8:03 am

Actually, it is likely he purchased that weapon as a pistol/suppressor combination since that is the only way I’ve ever seen it sold. Both components were by the same manufacturer. It’s also possible that what is being termed as jams/misfires were not all jams/misfires but part of the design of the pistol to maximize sound suppression.

    • Andy G. December 6, 2024, 9:38 am

“It’s the only way I have ever seen it sold “ what planet are you from? The suppressor takes an ATF application, $200 fee ( Read Tax) and a several month waiting period. A pistol on the other hand when bought, even in restrictive states, the buyer takes possession in a short period of time. They are bought separately.

      • Mike S December 6, 2024, 10:27 am

Station 6 is an integrally suppressed design. It came as a kit, pistol and suppressor.
        https://www.omahaoutdoors.com/b-t-station-six-45/

        • J December 6, 2024, 11:25 am

And they absolutely did not have that weapon. Engage your brain before your mouth, or in this case, your fingers.

    • Big Al 45LC December 6, 2024, 9:57 am

Very few guns are set up to take a suppressor. Special barrels are typically needed, and few manufacturers make both. Now that has changed a bit recently, but MOST suppressor set ups are done with aftermarket parts.

      • Andy G December 6, 2024, 1:03 pm

This is 2024, check almost any major pistol maker today and they will offer the option of a threaded barrel on their semi-auto pistols. No aftermarket parts are needed. Nothing special check the box when buying, threaded or non threaded. Walk into any gun shop or order on line and now you have your threaded barrel while you wait for your suppressor.
