This story is still developing so concrete facts and details are sparse, but CNN and other media outlets are reporting multiple shooting attacks in Ottawa, Canada, near Parliament Wednesday morning.
According to witnesses, one gunman opened fire on a soldier standing guard at the Canadian National War Memorial.
There have also been reports of “numerous gunmen” in the area. Canadian authorities have responded by putting much of the city on lockdown as they look for the shooter(s).
“Ottawa Paramedics and Fire Services provided first response to those injured and Ottawa Police Services are engaged with other law enforcement agencies at this time in pursuit of the criminal or criminals who have carried out this vicious and unwarranted attack,” said Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson in a statement.
