Svelte AR-10 and Left-Sided Charging Handle from Billet Rifle Systems - SHOT Show 2018

Billet Rifle Systems BRS-47SC. The side-charging handle was smooth and did not pinch nor snag. Billet Rifle Systems did an awesome job with this product.

Billet Rifle Systems launched two new products during the 2018 SHOT Show. Capitalizing on the success of the BRS-47, an AR-15 chambered in 7.62×39 that accepts Ak-47 magazines, Billet Rifle Systems created a side-charging version, the BRS-47SC.

The BRS-47SC features a non-reciprocating side charging handle that is built into the left side of the receiver. Cycling the BRS-47SC, I found it lacking the potential snag hazards and pinch points typical of side charging handles. Talking to representatives from Billet Rifle Systems, they also mentioned that they made some minor modifications to beef up the bolt on the BRS-47 and BRS-47SC series.

Also new to the roster is the .308 Azrael Rifle. The Azrael Rifle is an AR-10 patterned rifle that was purpose-built to be lightweight. Billet Rifle Systems used a custom-made carbon fiber stock, receiver extension, and handguard that were all developed in-house. For the barrel, Billet Rifle Systems used a FAXON 18-inch Big Gunner.

Billet Rifle Systems Azrael Rifle. The rifle is chambered in .308 Winchester. I can’t wait for Billet Rifle Systems to offer this rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor.

I am a big fan of lightweight semi-automatic AR-10 patterned rifles. Billet Rifle Systems needs to come out with a 6.5 Creedmoor version of this rifles as soon as possible. A lightweight 20-inch AR-10 chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor would be ideal for hunting and precision rifle competition.

The receiver extension and the adjustable cheek piece were designed in house by Billet Rifle Systems.

From my experience with Billet Rifle Systems, their rifles are inherently accurate due to the machining tolerances that Billet Rifle Systems holds. All Billet Rifle Systems upper and lower receivers start life as a solid billet, and Billet Rifle Systems typically does small runs to ensure maximum quality control. End users will find absolutely no play between the upper and lower receivers on their Billet Rifle Systems rifles. Billet Rifle Systems offers a plethora of color configurations, and if you want something special, they can work with Nevada Cerakote.

Are they even still making rifles and shotguns with walnut stocks and richly blued barrels and such, or handguns that are not clones of each other..?
