AKT1, an Ohio based company must have seen the 2021 chip shortage coming and taken steps to mitigate the impact. They release two new in ear electronic hearing protection models. The AKT5 offering 29 db of hearing protection while still allowing normal conversations with a battery life 40 hours, and retails for $99.

The AKT6 offers the same hearing protection and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity as well. The AKT6 has a 10 hour battery life and retails for $139. Both models are rechargeable and come with 3 sizes of foam and silicone inserts.
