During a Twitter Spaces discussion on Monday, presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made clear his stance on gun control, asserting, “I’m not going to take away anybody’s guns.”

Kennedy, who hopes to unseat Biden in 2024, presented himself as a “constitutional absolutist.” He believes the debate on whether the Second Amendment protects gun ownership is definitively resolved by the Supreme Court.

Kennedy was also skeptical of attempts to reduce violence by gun confiscation. He argued that such efforts won’t yield gun homicide rates similar to those in Western Europe.

“Guns, the proliferation, clearly, abets violence, but anybody who tells you that they can remove enough guns, AR-15s, by tinkering at the margins and get to the situation they have in western Europe is pulling your leg,” he said. “It’s not going to happen.”

Kennedy suggested shifting the focus to other potential causes of gun violence.

He pointed out the role of Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI) drugs. “We…have to look at the role of psychiatric drugs…prior to the introduction of Prozac we had almost no events like this,” he claimed.

Furthermore, Kennedy expressed support for measures to increase school security to prevent mass shootings.

“I understand personally the heartbreak of gun violence…we have to stop school shootings…if it comes down to protecting schools like we protect airlines, we’ll do that,” he declared.

Recent poll numbers from CNN suggest a growing support base for Kennedy. One-fifth of Democratic voters endorse him as their presidential candidate, while another 44% would consider supporting him. The Kennedy name and family ties appear to significantly influence potential supporters.

Still, the road to the nomination remains steep. In another CNN poll last month, 60% of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters backed current President Joe Biden, while only 20% favored Kennedy, and 8% supported Marianne Williamson. The remaining 8% expressed support for other unnamed candidates.

What do you think of RFK Jr.? Would you consider voting for him for president?

    1. We killed both Kenedys and MLK. Get over it. Move on, don’t forget the past, so you don’t repeat it.
    2. KJr. Might be a good candidate if he picks up on the business end of government where Trump was at and planned to fix it.
    3. Like Obiden, he will need for VP a woman, LBGT, minority or Jewish person to get the DNC on board, otherwise they will pick him apart, even if a Dem. 4.This puts the DNC between a rock and a hard spot…lol.
KJr. Will need to be for Roe vs Wade or he won’t fit the socialist liberals facade.

  • kb31416 June 12, 2023, 11:59 am

Right. Devilcrats, from Beto, to Biden, to the blue dog turd, all claim to support the 2A, and they are all lying.
I might have been born at night, but I wasn’t born last night.

in politics it isn’t what is said by the candidate but what the party stance is. i would question rfk’s true position on guns and would not vote for him knowing what the democratic party is going to do to the USA. socialism is not the answer and that is the democrat’s position.

  • Manarii Tane June 12, 2023, 7:52 am

Right! They will say anything to get elected and then do what they want. Dump the dodo.

  • David Boerboom June 12, 2023, 6:47 am

I identify as the president. There. The election is over.

  • Stan d. Upnow June 10, 2023, 5:47 pm

“I’m not going to take away anybody’s guns.”

Yeah, until he’s elected, that is. How many times have we heard that lie?
Don’t forget– he’s a member of the Progressive-Socialist Party. It ain’t the same Democrat Party of his dad and uncle.

  • Johnny Byers June 9, 2023, 3:56 pm

Seriously, this commie wants to take our militaries weapons away, don’t take my word for it, look it up. If anyone thinks this Marxist dildo is going to be the answer, then keep voting with your head up your 3 points of contact. I will never live on my knees no matter what pen was put to paper, I am a free man. Prepare to fight for your rights, because while you hide in your houses, scared of your own shadow, you are already giving it away!!

RFK Jr. might have a few ideas that resonate with Republicans, but overall he is a democrat first and foremost. I don’t think his stance on the 2d Amendment is enough for me to cross the aisle and vote for him. Granted, the socialist democrat establishment hates him, but even that isn’t all that important. He is still “with them” by party affiliation, so he’s a definite NO for me.

    • Stan d. Upnow June 10, 2023, 5:53 pm

Yes, the authoritarian Left tolerates no dissension. It starts within their own ranks. So, Bobby-Boy either kneels before the Progressive-Socialist altar and kisses the ring of its leaders, or he’s ostracized with zero critical campaign support. And don’t forget….. Leftists will lie & deceive at every turn if it advances their agenda.

      • D.J. June 13, 2023, 3:47 pm

Thanks again , Stan , for stating the obvious .

  • Mike in a Truck June 9, 2023, 1:56 pm

Remember who speaks: it’s a “Kennedy”.

  • Grampa Friday June 9, 2023, 11:21 am

If we were to have another dem in office, I’d rather it be him than any of the others, but if he managed to not share the same fate as his uncle that got suicided, he’d still be under constant fire from the deep state that controls his party. No dice for me.

  • D.J. June 9, 2023, 8:26 am

    I’m sorry , I don’t buy it . Especially from a Kennedy with a “ D “
    behind its name .

    • Stan d. Upnow June 10, 2023, 5:58 pm

But, but, they’re “royalty.” He’s entitled to be POTUS simply by being a Kennedy, you see.
Hillary thought the same, however, her only claim to royalty was/is being a royal pain in the ass.

      • D.J. June 12, 2023, 11:59 am

        I believe we broke from the “Divine-Right Theory “ in 1776 ?
Use of a common U.S. History book would clear that matter
up for you without the necessity of rhetorical , pithy statements .

  • Hodado June 9, 2023, 8:10 am

He’d have to leave the Democratic Party for me to even think about supporting him I think it’s all a ruse for the wacko dems to fall back on when Biden fails

  • Matt June 9, 2023, 8:06 am

I hate to say it because this time we may actually have a person that means to act like they talk, but for decades we have listened to the same thing out of many Democrats. And when the rubber met the road so to speak they acted in a different manner. I remember hearing, years ago, the same thing from Joe Biden. Of course he was against abortion and now for it against sexual perversion but now promoting it. We even get this sort of thing out of Republicans that will say one thing to get elected and do another when in office. McConnell and former Senator McCain are prime examples. Who, helped elect several Democrats over Conservative Republicans. If you pinned them down they would lie to you to get elected. I’m voting for people that have a track record of doing what they say they are going to do after they are elected. If i can’t see that then you don’t have my vote.

“I’m not going to take away anybody’s guns.”

Is there worse preamble that anyone, especially a Dem could make. Still though, I would love to see how matters would playout with a Dem who is polling well and believes that the CIA was involved in the assassination of both his uncle and father. If Jr. became POTUS, what would he do with the DOJ, CIA etc?

I consider the CIA the worst three letter Agency in a large field of bad players. The CIA that Truman started and then regretted, the CIA that was over throwing governments for generations, why? We were told that such a force was needed stop the spread of Communism. We recently had a lying director of the CIA who admitted that he had years back cast a vote for a Communist candidate for US President. John Brennan voted for Gus Hall and later became JB became director of the CIA, how can that happen? Unless we have been lied to all these years and there is an elaborate hidden agenda by the power elite.

JFK tried to stop the CIA and every freedom loving American who is paying attention should want the same thing. Dulles was fired but look what happened to JFK and an Jr. on a suicide mission might be the best chance to finally open the eyes of US. We have been lied to by our government for too long.

“I will splinter the CIA up into a thousand pieces and scatter them into the wind.” -JFK

  • David Boerboom June 9, 2023, 6:35 am

Yeah, I would NEVER vote for ANY kind of.demo-socio-marxist-nut, on any level.

  • Kane June 6, 2023, 3:51 pm

I will take RFK at his word on the 2A. The CIA will also take him at his word on everything else he is talking about.

    • Kane June 8, 2023, 10:20 am

Love it, RFK Jr. tuns up on the border to report the “distopian” nightmare the fake POTUS (genuine POS) has unleashed on US. RFK Jr. should demand that the fake POTUS cease and desist using the bust of his father of his phony political posturing during photo ops.

BTW, Abraham Bolden’s lawyer gives the credit to Trump for starting the pardon of his client. The fake POTUS, under the orders of Barry Soetoro (CIA bloodlines), pardoned the man the CIA setup.
