Well Surefire didn’t actually turbocharge their new flashlights but they did make several new Turbo head models.
The new turbo models are engineered for lighting up targets at greater distances and identifying threats further away. The new heads/ reflectors are only slightly larger than standard but focus the light much further.
The new Turbo models are offered for long-guns, handguns and handheld lights. The handgun models upgrade the current X300 and X400 models. The beams from both these models have an advertised range of 514 meters.
The long-gun models all have ranges reaching out to 600+ meters. These models are the Turbo Mini Scout Light Pro and Turbo Scout Light Pro. Both are relatively small for the distances and power they provide.
The handheld lights possess blinding power with the turbo heads. These models are slightly larger for your everyday carry but depending on situation may be worth the added diameter.
Several handheld models were upgraded to Turbo for use at longer distance such as the are EDC1 & 2.
