5 Things To Do If You’re Taken Hostage

in Authors, S.H. Blannelberry, This Week

Martin Savidge gives us five things to do if you’re taken hostage. Of course, his advice presupposes that you’re unarmed.

1. Look for door or exit, use it if possible
2. Be compliant
3. Don’t stand out
4. Get down, stay low
5. Expect to be detained

You agree?

It is 2130 hours as I write this. I have 9 mil at my side. When I go to bed there is a hi cap 45 ACP at the head of my bed. When I get dressed in the AM I place my 1911 –4 inch in the IWB holster on my right hip. I remove it at night as I prepare for my shower. GET THE PICTURE ?

That’s all good advise for pussys or people that think everything will be ok, but I don’t presume mercy from hostage takers.
I think more animalistic in such a situation.
    I don’t capture well, sorry.
I might make a door through a wall or lure a dumbass into my game.
But then again, I carry so……

50 hostages in Australian cafe couldn’t jump on one bearded Muslim terrorist. Collection of sheeps. Learn Krav Maga.
Any one of them had a gun? http://www.GeertWilders.NL

Understand that the moment you are a hostage, your life is forfeit and subject to death at the whim of the bg.
Your best opertunity to counter attack ( armed or not) is prior to being searched and or restrained. Counter with surprise, extreme violence of action, use improvised weapons to kill, disable, disarm, disrupt and distract. FIGHT like a cornered amimal, FIGHT dirty! Break bg knee on approach, get hand on bg weapon, apply improvised weapons to face, neck, ears, groin repeatedly. Head butt face. Bite chunks out of anything near your mouth, gouge eyes, punch grab and crush genitals. NEVER STOP. You may win on your own, other hostages may join your effort. As this should happen early in the event LE entry may not occur, they might not even be on site. At first FLASH or BANG HIT THE FLOOR play dead. Lion or lamb?

Just remember that even if you live in the U.S. not all states have the same concealed carry laws. In some states you cannot even get a permit. Some anti-gun states do not recognize other states concealed carry laws either. Many government buildings and private businesses ban concealed carry even when the home state has concealed carry laws. In such cases you will be unarmed and must be very wary at all times. In the Australia attack their were people who reacted instantly and escaped out the door. To hesitate in those circumstances as most people would is usually a bad idea.

If you are lucky and their is only one terrorist than you might have a chance if you know martial arts. Its a shame the brave man that attacked the lunatic in Australia when he started to fall asleep did not have any martial arts training. He would be alive today if he had.

50 some years ago I saw an FBI man show how to use ordinary objects like a rolled up news paper to incapacitate an adversary. It was amazing how quick he could overpower someone with ordinary objects or nothing more than his bare hands.

Pretty sound advice, I would say. Unless of course, you are carrying.

But what to do if you are carrying is not necessarily obvious. Last thing I would want is to end up as the would-be hero who accidentally killed one of my fellow hostages. And that is only one of many possible bad outcomes.

Honestly (and feel free to ridicule me if you like) I would hope it occurs to me that the very first thing I should do is pray. Yeah, going on my own impulses or smarts has not always worked so well for me–I would want some really superior guidance before doing a thing. Ymmv.

If you can pull it off silently and not cause attn. to yourself.

Or, just shoot the devil. If you’re always armed, you won’t have to make the presumption that you’re not.

If there is two of them, its best to wait till one of them is close to you, shoot him 2 to 3 times, use his body for cover to shoot the second one. The second terrorist will most likely try to locate you and shoot you before he tries to kill a fellow hostage. Just a thought…………If there is 3 or more terrorists ,its best to follow advice in video.
      Again just my two cents.
