Why develop a .410 fire extinguisher shotgun?
Well, as they say, if you have to ask, you’ll never know.
Kudos to Mark Serbu, his friends Mike and Mike, and Youtube personalities: Royal Nonesuch and 50CalVal for putting it together.
It may not be practical. It may not be exactly safe in this early iteration. But it does highlight the ingenuity, the teamwork and the fun that characterizes much of this industry.
“I think we’re on to something here! Sure, it’s starting out as a single-shot .410 shotgun, but I can see a lot of possibilities with this! 20-gauge, 12-gauge, suppressed 9mm, .45, etc., etc.,” said Mark on his Youtube page.
“This is considered to be an NFA firearm in the United States (AOW: Any Other Weapon), and requires special paperwork before building (for individuals) or buying,” continued Mark.
ATF wait time is over a YEAR !
Kinda cool could be a edge in some household situations.
But it would suck if you was dealing with a fire and got em mixed up
Veeeery interesting……but stupid
do they make a micro for concealed carry. this looks like an all around bad idea
Interesting option for an inconspicuous in-plain-sight firearm.
Hard to believe a group of alleged adults found this to be so cool, not to mention worthy of their time.
Partially redeemed when they said proceeds/something or other/blahblah would go to help injured vets. I confess by that point in the video I had mostly quit paying attention and was scrolling through the comments.
Think I’ll go do something much more worthy of MY time now, like sorting the scrap paper in the recycling bin into colored vs black and white. Or whatever…
Guess they must have recently legalized a whole assortment of DRUGS in your state… Out of the top 100 things that I really want in life… that thing would rate as # 987 on that list !!!
Poor thing used to be functional.
It’s a lot of fun until you’re on fire and someone tries to put you out with it.
Damn, Uncle Dave! You so funny! That’s great, I love it.
OMG that was funny! I was thinking it’d be a good plain-sight concealment for the house/garage but you make an excellent point!
Uh, what if there is a small fire and someone picks it up by mistake and pulls the trigger and blows his knee or foot off? Even a .410 can destroy an artery and cause someone to bleed out quickly! Just not a good idea IMHO.
Well, it would be a good way to”extinguish” the perps!
May be a great protection /deterrent piece for convenience store operators. . . When robbed, give up the money then DROP THEM before they reach the door. 👍
Im a bit unclear on what exactly the point of this thing is. Just to push the limits, boredom, what? Is it so you can have a gun in plain sight? I can see a flashlight, which has been done in the past, you can carry it around easily, have a gun if you need it, and a light. But it would look a bit dumb to carry around a fire extinguisher, just in case you needed a single shot weapon, and doubtful it works as an extinguisher anymore. A derringer is a bit more convenient. And to top it off, you have to go file all the paperwork for a destructive device. So a ‘fire extinguisher’ that cost about $1000. Im sure people will be lining up for one.
As I breathe a sigh of relief that this was just a gag and not a new “SUPER” idea someone has come up with like a trench shovel attachment for the buffer tube on your AR to make it even more tacti-nope I won’t say cool .
The choice is not can you do something but should you do something.
