Perazzi guns have won more world championships, Olympic Games, and international competitions than all the other makers combined. They are known for uncompromising quality, innovation, and guns that fire tens of thousands of rounds without a hick-up. This Perazzi MX5 is quite an unusual find. First, it is a 16-gauge Perazzi Over/Under, a gun not often imported into the USA. Upland hunters have long known that the 16-gauge gun “carries like a twenty and hits like a 12” and it is a classic upland gauge. This gun weighs just 7lbs., balances dead on the pivot, and was special ordered without side ribs to help reduce weight. Second, it is furnished with SCO wood with a full pistol grip, a lavishly figured Turkish walnut fully figured on both sides, a $3000 upgrade. And last, the gun is fitted with Briley thin wall flush fit screw in chokes that give the gun versatility for any clays or upland pursuits you choose (a $600 cost). The MX5 is a beautiful, but unadorned, full-fledged Perazzi with all the strengths and attention to detail Perazzi is known for, but no engraving, frame sculpting, drop out trigger groups, or other frills that don’t count in the field. Built in 1999 and barely ever carried or shot, the gun was made to last a lifetime and with the SCO wood and lack of side ribs, it is a stunning, elegant looking over/under. The gun is in 99% factory original condition with no wear to the action, trigger guard, barrels…even the trigger has all the blue on it. The barrels are tight as new on the trunnions and breech face, the top lever is way right of center, and the single selective trigger has amazing crisp trigger pulls as you would expect on a world-class Perazzi. The buttstock is without a mark, the forend wood has only a few tiny handling marks but is still 99.5% factory new. The gun is surprisingly light and dynamic, especially for a Perazzi that are known to be heavier guns. You won’t find another like this one, just in time for the upland season and a few weeks to practice. Priced to sell, so don’t hesitate to call! Specifications are in the tables below.
