Manufactured from 1940 to 1950. The Mossberg model 42M was selected as the small caliber training rifle to go to war during WWII . Ten thousand were sent to Britain as training rifles to simulate the Lee - Enfield No. 4 . Variations that followed included the 42M -b-c and the 42TR . This is a beautiful survivor from that era .
