H.K. Benelli SL-80 model 121 M-1 VG 7 Shot 18 in 2 3/4 in 1982

Italian Date Code AL identifies this Benelli SL-80 series Military & Police Shotgun, model 121 M-1, as part of 1982’s production. This was the shotgun that brought tactical shotgunning to new levels of performance, and this is one of the first ones, brought into the United States while Heckler & Koch had their fledgling operation in Alexandria, Virginia. Type is inertia semi-Auto Shotgun, M-1 type, extremely simple construction; 20 inch cylinder bore barrel with early aperture sights – blade front and hooded rear; 2 3/4 inch chambering with 7 + 1 Magazine capacity; hardwood military grade buttstock and forend with military sling slots; 13 5/8 length of pull buttstock, 39 3/4 inches overall length; matte blue steel barrel and upper receiver; lightweight alloy lower receiver; parkerized magazine tube; weight empty 7 pounds 8 oz. This specimen comes to us from a civilian collection in neighboring Madison county, Tennessee. Surface wear is minimal, mostly on the sides of the oil finished buttstock and faint white streaking on the trigger guard and here and there on the magazine tube and parkerized steel brace. We rate this 121 M-1 as Very Good, perhaps even Excellent, since no more than 10 to 15 percent of its surfaces are affected by any use evidence. It is certainly excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. We’re offering this 28 year old HK/Benelli, still today state of the art, for only $ 769.95.
