Colt Custom Shop engraving combines engraving patterns from Henshaw, Nimschke and Helfricht so that this Colt SAA is an engraving “sampler” with punch dot background on barrel, ejector housing, frame, back strap, trigger guard and cylinder, and with geometric designs on the recoil shield and loading gate. The barrel is marked on the top with the one line factory address and on the left side with the “COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45" stamping. The left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and left side of grip straps under the grips. Standard blade front and frame notch rear sights. Fitted with smooth ivory grips with silver Rampant Colt medallions marked "Colt/150". The left grip is scrimshawed in black with “R. Henshaw 1831/L. Nimschke 1/C. Helfricht 1/Contemporary”. Complete with maroon Texas 150 year factory box numbered to a different gun. Excellent condition! The revolver retains 99% plus of the original nickel finish with a few marks from handling and storage. Faint cylinder drag line. The grips are excellent with very faint marks from handling and storage. Mechanically excellent. The box is very good with wear from handling and storage.
