The Ingram, this one’s parent pistol, was invented in 1964 and variants of it saw service on a limited basis in Viet Nam and in domestic law enforcement applications in the United States. S.W. Daniel Company in Marietta Georgia began production of this semi-auto version in the late 1970s, but BATF stopped production in 1982 because the pistols fired from an open bolt and were too tempting for owners to fiddle with and try to modify. This is a comparatively rare, Tennessee Made version of the M11/9, labeled the Leinad and manufactured in the extreme Southeast Corner of our State, during the interim period between locations, in Ducktown, Tennessee. Most recently, this pistol was manufactured and marketed as Masterpiece Arms. From its 94 serial number prefix, it was manufactured in 1994. Its original magazine, then, is a 10 rounder. We are including five brand new interchangeable MPA made 30 shot magazines.Barrel is 4 1/4 inch threaded. This pistol weighs a hefty 56 ounces empty with magazine included. Overall length is 10 1/2 inches, and height is 11 inches with magazine inserted. Construction is all steel with polymer backstrap / magazine release housing. Safety is lever style, mounted on the side of the frame; and sights are aperture rear and shielded post front. This pistol comes to us from one of our local West Tennessee collectors, its original owner. Surface detractions are minimal, only faint case contact evidence, and faint whitening on the muzzle threads. We rate it as Excellent, 95 percent vicinity by our estimate.
