I removed a half inch of barrel to get rid of the bad bead and extra hole, and the gun now has a perfectly centered bead and shoots great. A Judge may be nice, but this .410 hits harder and patterns better. The open-choked barrel is still 20-7/8" long and the gun has an overall length of 27-1/2", so it is well within the Federal guidelines of 18" minimum barrel length for a shotgun and 26" overall length. (Note: please check your local laws; some states, like Michigan for example, impose extra laws over and above the Federal law; Michigan requires a 30" overall length for shotguns; shotguns less than 30" but more than 26" can be purchased, but must be purchased as a "pistol"). The gun shoots well, as you can see by the pattern and can pics (both shot at 15 feet), but it is really too heavy (at least for me) to shoot one-handed. Held two-handed, and aimed as if it had a stock, it shoots great and no snake is safe (lots of water moccasins where I live). The gun was the ugliest shade of green when I got it, so my wife jokingly said I should camo it, and I did, and it came out pretty nice. It makes a great boat gun, which is how I have been using it these past years. The home-made case comes with it.
