Vintage Firearms Inc is pleased to offer this affordable upland gun from AyA, one of Spain’s premier gunmakers well known the world over for making solid, well finished guns. This Yeoman, serial number 374395 was manufactured in 1971 and features AyA’s standard boxlock design. It is modelled on a Westley Richards boxlock action, brought to Spain by the King brothers. The Anson & Deeley action, the most famous of all boxlock designs, was created by two employees of Westley Richards in 1875, and ever since, Westley Richards guns have defined boxlock elegance. AyA has been utilizing this classic action since 1960. The 28" barrels are of the chopper lump design, long heralded as the very best method of joining the barrels and utilized mostly in “BEST GUNS” from the likes of Purdey and Holland & Holland. The barrels have been professionally restored and have excellent bores, tight ribs, 98% blue, and are choked Mod and Full with 2 ¾” chambers. The gun weighs a handy 6lbs. 6oz. ideal for all Upland hunting, deadly to clays as well! The receiver retains 96% factory bone and charcoal case color, excellent screws, and is in perfect mechanical condition with crisp double triggers and auto safety. The European Walnut has some figure, hand cut flat-top checkering and is fitted with a factory buttplate. Wood to metal fit is excellent. These side-by-sides are known to be supremely reliable guns. This AyA Yeoman #3 is priced affordably and ready to offer Yeoman service.
