Winchester bayonet and sheath (period correct) included. The bayonet and sheath are in very good plus condition. SN# 675,XXX (with an “E” above it), manufactured in 1918 prior to US markings and cartouche being added (Winchester begun adding military markings in the 1920’s to some guns). Gun is marked “Model 1897 Winchester Trade Mark Registered in US Patten Office” on left side slide rail. All markings are sharp and crisp. Very good arsenal (Winchester) dull grey-black parkerized finish; function is very good with a tight action, checkered steel butt plate and bright shinny bore. The wood exhibits some light handling marks and with the exception of an approximately 2” long hairline crack on the right side just above the trigger housing is in very good plus condition. This gun was purchased from a Virginia State Police armory sale in the 1970’s and appears to be original with the exception of having an arsenal parkerized finish.
