The Daniel Defense MK18 is an AR-15-style short-barreled rifle chambered in 5.56 NATO with a 10.3" cold-hammer-forged government-profile barrel and 1:7 twist. It ships with a Daniel Defense flash suppressor and a carbine-length gas system with a pinned low-profile gas block. The rifle uses Daniel Defense’s MK18 RIS II rail system (free-floated) and an M16-profile bolt carrier group with GRIP-N-RIP charging handle.
This model is offered as an NFA short-barrel rifle configuration and is built on forged 7075-T6 aluminum receivers with Type III hardcoat anodize. The MK18 is produced in the U.S. and is marketed as a compact, duty-grade carbine option derived from SOCOM’s MK18 configuration.
