Lever-action operation paired with modern design, the Browning BLR provides the advantages of contemporary caliber choices — including magnum chamberings — while delivering smooth, glass-smooth cycling. The BLR uses a rack-and-pinion lever action with a multiple-lug rotating breech bolt and side ejection, and employs a detachable box magazine to permit the use of pointed bullets in magnum cartridges. The BLR receiver is constructed from a rugged, lightweight aluminum alloy and is drilled and tapped for optics mounts. The design includes a folding hammer with a half-cock position for added safety, pinch-free lever action (trigger travels with the lever), and takedown model options for easier transport and storage.
