The Springfield 1911 EMP (.40 S&W) is the manufacturer’s short-action 1911 designed around smaller defensive cartridges for concealed carry. The EMP uses a forged stainless steel slide paired with a patented forged aluminum-alloy frame and a match-grade, fully supported stainless bull barrel to deliver 1911 handling in a smaller package.
This bi-tone Cocobolo-grip variant features fixed combat sights and a traditional 1911 control set including an extended ambidextrous thumb safety and beavertail grip safety. The compact 3in barrel configuration and lightweight construction make the EMP intended for concealed carry and general range/recreation use.
