THIS IS A COLT WOODSMAN 1RST SERIEW MATCH TARGET PISTOL
serial #MT7298, 22 LR, 6 5/8” heavy barrel with an excellent bore. This lovely pistol has seen very little use since leaving the factory in 1940. It retains about 98-99% original blue. The real prize on this gun are the magnificent checkered walnut “elephant ears” grips with silver Rampant Colt medallions, they remain in excellent condition. It is sighted with a Patridge front sight and adjustable rear sight. It includes a later unmarked Colt brown hinged box, a correctly marked two-tone Colt Match Target ten-round magazine, a Colt-marked Target ten-round magazine, and a spare set of later military plastic Match Target grips in excellent condition. A superb example of these rare and desirable pistols.
