The Ruger Vaquero is a six-shot, single-action revolver built on Ruger’s New Model frame. This blued 5.50 inch model (5106) features a cold hammer-forged barrel, traditional western-style hardwood grip, blade front and integral notch rear sights, a larger crescent-shaped ejector rod head, and a beveled cylinder for easier holstering. The Vaquero incorporates Ruger’s transfer-bar safety mechanism and patented reverse-indexing pawl for easier loading and unloading.
Models chambered in .357 Magnum also accept factory .38 Special cartridges. The 5106 is finished in blued alloy steel with hardwood grips and is intended for traditional western-style shooting and cowboy-action/sport shooting applications.
