1911 Light from Crimson Trace & New Rail Light for Pistols!

Crimson Trace: https://www.crimsontrace.com/

Two new products from Crimson Trace for 2012. The first is a light for 1911 style pistols that mounts on the trigger gaurd with no gunsmithing. And a first for CT, a rail mounted laser that is not the wrap grip we are all used to from them. It is really slim and snag free and worth watching for the video. Cool new stuff from Crimson Trace, the professional choice for weapon mounted lights and lasers.

Only problem I see is finding a holster to fit this light/gun combo. ANY IDEAS?

If this goes true to form for the industry, it will be at least a year before they get it into actual production, and three years until it’s price drops into the category of “can afford” for the majority of us. In the meantime, someone will copy the concept and design and get knock-off made in china for 1/4 the price. At some point someone like Streamlight will make a decent copy of this design and FINALLY bring the price into the affordability range that we all desire. If not for companies like streamlight, we’d still be paying 300 bucks for a decent tactical light – so let’s hope!

Nice…but I bought 1911’s with rails long ago before a product like this was on the market! I guess this opens up new purchases for me, where I may want the option for a mounted light. Looks good. I’d like to see a unit almost that same size be a laser light combo. 😉

This will be fantastic for my Colt Delta Elite Gold Cup in 10mm, no way do i want to modify my pistol and as a night stand brother this will eliminate the need for my surefire in one had and pistol in the other!!! Good To GO CT!!

Perfect!! I ordered a Wilson CQB Elite 1911 with out the light rail. This will make a perfect solution for those 1911 owners that do not want the light rail. Now we just have to have holster makers pay attention and make holsters with these lights in mind. (Hint) I will be looking for a Holster Solution for this setup.

I have CT products and think they are excellent. The light looks like a great addition for a 45. Will it fit a micro compact?

I really like the idea of being able to have the light attached to a 1911 trigger guard without having to modify the frame in any way. More importantly to me is I don’t have to have a light in one hand and my gun in the other, making it quicker and easier to acquire an enemy target or push a door open.

I recognize him from Personal Defense TV (Excellent show). He would have been a real ringer for Top Shot though!
