The X-Bolt 2 Hunter is a bolt-action hunting rifle built around Browning’s redesigned X-Bolt 2 action. It features the X-Lock scope mounting system, a redesigned receiver and bolt with increased guidance surface area and a three-lug, 60° bolt lift for smooth, fast cycling. The rifle ships with a detachable rotary box magazine and a thumb-operated top-tang safety.
The X-Bolt 2 Hunter models offered with maple stocks pair a matte-blued sporter-style barrel with stabilized AAA maple furniture and checkered grip panels. X-Bolt 2 rifles use Browning’s user-adjustable DLX trigger (factory-set ~3.5 lb.) and an Inflex recoil pad to reduce felt recoil, making them suitable for big-game hunting in heavy calibers such as .300 Winchester Magnum.
