It is in mint condition and has had a professional trigger job by the gunsmiths at Smith & Wesson. There is no apparent creep, trigger over travel, or excessive trigger reset travel. The Smith & Wesson 645 is DA/SA, drop hammer, with an integral safety with ambidextrous levers. It has an actual safety, with a lever to access it on both sides of the frame. This safety lever safely lowers the hammer on a steel bar, which makes it impossible for the hammer to contact the firing pin. With a round in the chamber, the safety can be released with a flick of the thumb and it can then be fired double action for the first shot, then a single action for any remaining shots. The exceedingly tight barrel fit to the slide of the Smith & Wesson 645, is accomplished through exceptional design, engineering and machining skills. The entire pistol reflects the obvious pride of the Smith & Wesson employees in their product. This pistol has the original adjustable rear sight and light gathering red front sight. The photograph shows off the walnut checkered grips from a Smith & Wesson Model 745. What you see in the photographs is a mint condition Smith & Wesson 645.
